A Luna's Job

1134 Words
Just as I finished my mind-link I looked and Sage was frantically trying to get the system up and running. Trying every camera with the remote that was on my desk. "What happened to the cameras Sage?" I asked her. "I have no idea. One minute it was working and the next, poof they all went out. It's not working. OMG! What are we going to do Luna Rosalie?" She says frantically. "I am not sure, Sage. If only there were a way to connect with a computer." I said to her. Just then I heard someone in my mind. 'Deary, go to the Luna desk and tap on the top. A keyboard should appear. I heard the systems were down. Our house also has cameras and they are not working.' someone said. 'Former Luna Elenora? Is that you?' I asked, while running to the desk and tapping a few parts of the desk to see if a keyboard would appear. 'Yes, I am on my way.' She mentioned it in the mind-link. As I felt her disconnect from my mind link, I found a button on the corner of the desk mat. The desk mat turned and a keyboard with a different desk mat took its place. Just as I found the keyboard Elenora walked in from one of the side bookshelf. "Well that is new" I said to her out loud. "Don't worry you will get the hang of this room one day." She said giggling. "Now let's get back to the task on hand. We are the first century of wolves that have Luna's join Alpha's in job duty. Only occurs with we are needed while the men are out fighting." Sage was in an awe, this pack is more than what meets the eye. She was never one for a fight but she was very much a Luna's companion. Just then Elenora asked me to scoot over and she would teach me how to hack back into our systems to get them back online. "Just need to get the power source back online. So we will need to leave this screen...." She said ask she navigated through the programs to get us back online. It took her a little over 15 minutes to get us back online. "Wow, that didn't take long at all." I said to Elenora. "I will teach you, don't worry. It took some training to get that down and making sure that everything in this room was updated and running separately from the rest of the pack house." Elenora said to me very proudly. "This was to ensure that a Luna could still assist her Alpha. Even the safe rooms are secure and separate from the packhouse." Its amazing what technology in the wolven society has done for packs. This will be an advantage we will have over any other packs and if we were under attack again. "We are the first of our kind to have a full Luna s***h Alpha. This makes sure that even if the Alpha should go, the Luna would still stay in command." Sage said. "Look the fight on the inside. Looks like there are so many. but the southern boarder has been handled." I can't help but think this is an inside job no one know the ins and outs of the pack but someone within the pack boarders. Just who would be dumb enough to attack their own pack and why. "Do you think we should go out and help them fight?" I asked Sage. "Non sense. It looks like they have it under control. I just wonder how that many of them got into the second board unnoticed." She says and you can see Luna Elenora nod agreeing with Sage. I also agree with them how did they get inside the pack. There was only one side that was not attacked and we did not hear from and that was the east side of the wing. Where the old ruins were. "Pull the footage from the east side of the boarders, I know we don't have much patrol there because no one vetures that direction." I suggested. As the footage came up we rewind the footage to the time the first attack rang out and played it. In between the first and second attacks there was small waves of wolves leaving the area because we needed them else where. Then you would see that people started sneaking in through the boarders. "There I said." Pointing a little to the left of the camera. "Its a blind spot of the camera. but it catches someone standing there!" I said to them. For just a moment you can see a shadow of a person standing there and it seem like they were the look out. "Who is that?" Sage says "Can we zoom in?" "We can try but I cannot gaurantee that we can, its hard to say if we can even catch because we only can see a glimpse of the person. There isn't a full veiw of them." Luna Elenora mentions to me. Technology is great in ways but still sucks in others I suppose. "It is ok Luna Elenora. We will know where to start." I said to her. "Oh dear, just call me Mom or Elle." She says while chuckling. "Noted" I say with a smile. That is when Vincent comes to mind, I hope he is ok. "Let's bring back up the feed and make sure everyone is ok." We watch and the it seems that the fight has calm and the rogues have left but in a different direction. Seems like they didn't want to show them the way they came in. Too late for trying to out smart us now. Before Vincent could mind link us that the coast was clear, we had already came out of hiding. We were coming to assist with anyone that was hurt and I could see that he was a little set back that I already knew. "Dad said cameras went down. I didn't expect that you would be able to see anything." Vincent said to me. "A Luna has her ways." His mother says to him before running to his dad and embracing him. I laugh while hugging him. "I am just glad to see you are ok. I guess a Luna does have her ways. We know how they came in. Let's send some scouts before the scents are gone." Vincent shook his head no. "There is no scent. This ambush killed many before we even notice something was going on. We were only alerted because someone escaped and warned the remaining pack memebers." Vincent said to me. There isn't a trail we could track. Could that mean they were using some black magic?
