Announcements and Questions

We just got to the dining hall. I went to find my sister and his brother caught him at the front door. I went to the front of the room and went to the right to stand by Julie, my mother and Thomas. The table was still being set up with dinner and everyone was starting to pile in. I was talking with my sister and notice that I was being stared at. I looked at Vincent was watching me from afar.

“Geez, you guys just met, and I can smell him on you Rosalie. I didn’t expect you to be like that.” Said Thomas.

What did he just say you can smell Vincent on me…? We didn’t even do anything just a hug and him giving me a few kisses… As we were talking, they started serving us the drinks. I always get tea that my mother made sure they served me. I drink this tea once every day since I could remember. After my tea I just drink water or a little bit of juice.

Since today was a little stressful, I opted for some red wine. Since my father said I couldn’t have beer while the guest was still here. Tonight, they were serving us either steak and mash potatoes or chicken and rice. I got the steak medium rare and cheese mash potatoes. I also asked for a small salad. My sister got the chicken and rice with the soup of the day. We always do this, and we share our food.

We were still enjoying our meal when my father got up to make an announcement. He tapped on his wine glass and got everyone’s attention.

“I want to first thank everyone for coming out to greet our guest from the Silver Moon Pack! Let’s give them a warm welcome to our pack!” My father announced. You can hear the murmurs in the crowd.

“ENOUGH!” I heard my mother use her Luna tone.

“Now, I know not everyone has there own say with what is going on. I just want to say that I no longer want to have this nonsense of a war going on. I want to fix this issue. We are here to announce a truce with the pack. We are going to form an alliance. Everyone knows that we have been getting attack on our eastern borders. That is also the borderlands of Silver Moon Pack.” Announced my father. Then we hear the murmurs again, my mother gives everyone a look, and there is silence again.

“Today, they are here to announce that we are going to have combine our packs as one. We are going to combine our packs through marriage. Rosalie Knight and Vincent Silver are to be wed on the next full moon. The day is Jan. 26th. Let’s congratulate them on this marriage!” He spoke.

There was clapping but still murmurs amongst the people. You can tell no one like the idea to have us combine packs. Since I was to take over the pack. I got up and thanked everyone, so did Vincent. We sat back down while everyone came up and congratulated us. After a while everyone started to leave, we went to say goodbye to the Alpha and Luna of Silver Moon Pack. Then I went back to the Alpha’s office. My father was already there.

“Rosalie, I was just admiring your mapping skills. I have to say you two did a great job. This is a good strategy. Now let’s talk about building the new pack house.” He spoke.

“Actually… I wanted to talk to you about something else… I wanted to talk about the mate bond…” I said to him. I saw him stop what he was doing and look up at me.

“What about the bond Rosalie?” Asked my father.

“How does it feel to be bonded to mother?” I asked.

The question stunned my father. He sat there for a while. I looked at him as he sat in his thoughts. He looked at me with sad eyes.

“Rosalie, the mate bond is unexplainable. It is also something you cannot resist. Once you lock onto one another nothing in the world exists. You are bonded by more than your soul but the soul of your wolf. You will do anything to protect them, and they are only yours. When I met your mother, nothing else mattered. The world had just stopped, I could smell her scent and I was looking right into her eyes. I could feel life that we will bring. I would do anything to keep her safe.” He said to me.

“Do sparks fly when you are together?” I asked nervously.

“Yes, every time she touches me. She calms me. She is the beauty of my world. Your mother is my love and I lover her more and more as time goes on.” He said proudly.

“She is amazing. I don’t know what I would do without her.” I spoke.

“My darling, I know that it is hard to have to let that go. I feel sorry that you don’t have the chance to find your mate. I just want to let you know its ok. Love can be limitless, even if it is arranged. It is unconditional.” He spoke. Then he came close to me and gave me a hug. I could feel the tears streaming down my face. Why was it so hard for me to feel the pull and love that my father is talking about?

“Father, I have one more thing. What is in the tea that I drink every day?” I asked, you could feel him stiffen up a little.

“Why do you ask Rosalie?” He spoke.

“Because I believe I did find my mate… Its just that I didn’t feel the love. I felt fear and excitement all at the same time.” I spoke.

He froze… He sat in front of me for a while before getting up to his desk and pulling out a black book. He sat there you can tell he was contemplating on telling me what was going on. He would look at me, open his mouth like he was going to say something and close it again. After about 10 mins, my mother walked in. She seems to be in a rush. She looked at me and said, “Are you sure you have found your mate?”

I looked at them both and was trying to see why they looked so worried.

“I believe I do; my wolf Gia can’t tell but I know I can feel the pull when he touches me. His scent makes me feel dizzy and I can feel butterflies in my belly.” I said to them.

They sat there for a little bit, seems like they were in the middle of a mind link. When my mother said “Tomorrow. Bring him to this office and we will talk about it. Who is this mate?”

I looked at them a little puzzled. What are they not telling me? I was a little hesitant before I respond, “Vincent Silver I believe.”

My parents were stunned. It was all just a coincidence that we are in an arrange marriage and so happened to be mates. My mother looked at me and I could tell she was a little worried about this. My father just rubbed my mother’s shoulders and said “Its time we tell her what is going on. We should have let her know from the beginning.”

“Darling could you give me and your father time to talk. I promise you tomorrow we will explain everything to you and Vincent. Now, off to bed ok.” She said suddenly.

I did as my mother asked for and got up, walk towards the door. Before I shut it, I turned to look at them and said, “Good Night mother, Good night father.” Then I left the room and went straight to mine.

I had all sorts of questions now. What are they hiding from me? Why do they need Vincent with me? What is going on? I got to the room and went to my closet to get a night gown. I undressed and got ready for bed. I was trying hard to get comfortable, but my thoughts kept me up.

I started to get drowsy and just doze off in my thoughts. Tomorrow is a new day.
