Vincent's Point of View

“Why in the world would you agree to that kind of a deal?” I screamed at my father.

“It’s a chance to have peace. We have bigger issues then to be enemies with them right now. We have been having Vampire attacks and they are having rouge attacks. It is best to unite then to be divided. We will have greater numbers if we were one pack.” My father David said to me.

“How will me marrying his daughter help our situation? I gave up on my mate and was going to run this pack alone.” I said to my father.

“Or as rumors say, he will have Serenity Howl take place as Luna.” Says Christian with a laugh.

“NOT FUNNY!” I said gritting my teeth.

“Come on! Everyone knows he isn’t. She just wants to be Luna. That’s why she yells at everyone.” My brother says.

“BOYS! Vincent, this is pack matter. She is an Alpha and will be taking over her pack. That is why your father made the decision. While you were absent…” said my mother calmly. She gave me a stern look.

“I feel like I don’t have a choice in this matter. If she already knows. What about the Old Ruins of Moonlight City? Did they give up their portion of the land?” I said to my father.

“No, we have concluded to rebuild the lands and make is holy again. Like it once was before it was destroyed because of greed.” My father said. He looked at him and said “If life was peaceful again, we would not have to worry about our kind dying. We can fight as one and protect our packs as one.”

No doubt there what my father said. I want peace too. I just don’t want to be the one who must give up my life to have it. It’s my duty and responsibility I thought to myself.

“Fine! When are we to meet Golden Moon Pack?” I said to my father.

My mother came in with my sister Sage and said “we leave tomorrow morning. It’s a 3-hour drive. We must past through the Moonlight City and the old ruins. To get to them.”

The city is our land, but the old ruins is their land. We always dread going through there. There were whispers of a white wolf with a Crescent moon on her forehead that still roams there. Only one pure white wolf exists and that is the moon goddess.

“I will prepare for the trip and the gifts to your bride that waits. We will leave you to your duty Vincent.” Said my mother as she ushered everyone out.

I sat there for a moment and thought how ridiculous this has been. As I was diving into my duties as alpha someone came into the office. By the smell of cheap perfume, I already knew who it was. I looked up and female walked in. She has long blond hair, that she curled, and blue eyes. I will admit she has a nice size rack, but she lacks almost every where else. She was wearing red; flows dress and high heels. Serenity.

“Hey babe! You look stressed. Want a massage. It will help you relax.” She speaks

“I am good Serenity. I just have a lot to deal with. What do you want?” I spoke.

“I just want to know when you will make us official. I have been trying really hard to make sure my duties are full filled love.” She speaks.

God why didn’t I see it. She is full of herself. I just got the 10th complaint from the kitchen that she has yelled at the staff again for making her meal wrong. Then she yelled at the laundry staff for accidentally bleaching her shirt. Even her brother, Anthony, has nothing nice to say about her.

“Look, Serenity! I have never once mention that we were a thing. These rumors end now. I never even went to bed with you. It was just a few times that we went out. I told you I couldn’t do this with you.” I said to her.

It was like it went in one ear and out the other. She started touching me and tried to sit on my lap. I got up and gave her a stern look. “I need you to get out.” I walked to the door and opened it for her.

She looked at me and laughed “you don’t really mean that love. Come on let’s go to your room.” Then she leaned in close and said “I have no undies on. I made it easy for you to access.” She then tried to pull up her dress and I shove her out. I closed the door and locked it. I heard her trying to open it and calling for me. After a whole she let out a frustrating sign and left.

I decided to go get ready for our trip to Golden Moon and didn’t want to have encounter with Serenity. I unlocked the door and used the secret passageway to the bedroom. Thank Goddess I lock my bedroom. I heard her go into the office after I left.

I started packing my essentials and extra clothes. I notice one of my suits were missing. Which means we were going to have a fancy dinner. After a while I heard my mother come to the door. So, I went to open it. She looked at me and smiled. Then before she could open her mouth Serenity showed up. I could see my mother’s anger build in her eyes when she senses Serenity.

“Luna Eleanor! To what do we owe the pleasure…” before she could continue my mother cut her off.

“I have told you before, stay away from my son. You are not fit to wear the title of Luna and one has already been selected Now I need to have a word with my son.” She says then commanded in her Luna voice, “you may take your leave Serenity!”

Thank Goddess for my mother! I saw Serenity leave in defeat. Then I turned to my mother who looked angry at me. “What did I do? She was always a friend.” I said to my mother.

“She obviously doesn’t think you are friends. Why would she think she would be made Luna one day? What did you say to her?” My mother scowled at me.

“I am not sure. I don’t remember. I remember one night I leaned on her for some comfort. I was frustrated. But I don’t remember doing more….” I said to my mother.

“Anyways, I just wanted to wish you luck and give you the family ring.” My mother said. “I was hoping you could give it to your mate. But… You should give it to your fiancé instead.” She pulled out a velvet looking box and handed it to me. I opened it and there was a center round cut diamond with a gold band that look like twisting vines and leaves. She then pulled another box, and it had a matching gold band with leaves also.

“It was said that the original owners of this ring were the Goddess herself, they were made from the tree that stood on the holy grounds. The tree that is now bare and hopefully love will make it whole again.” She says too me.

“What about you and father? These are your rings.” I said to her in shock. She lifted her hand and said “Your father came prepared. He already purchased a new set for this very day.” She had a beautiful Oval cut center diamond with 2 small Ruby diamonds next to them and a pink gold band.

“Well, I wouldn’t be able to give this to my mate. So, I will give this to her. Hopefully she will like it and we will be able to become stronger as mates.” I reassured my mother. She looked at me and placed her hand on the side of my face. She smiled and nodded. Then she turned and walked away. I closed my door and locked it then walked towards the bed. I place the rings on my nightstand and went to the balcony on the right side of my bed.

Tonight, is my last night as a free man. I hoped for a mate, but a chosen mate isn’t too bad. I looked at the moon one last time and headed to bed we have a long day ahead of us.
