Even though unconventional, our date went pretty well. He took me to a very beautifully made dinner, but it was what happened after we left that actually made my night. The sky was clear of clouds and the stars shinned brightly as the moon's light lit every crevice of this small town, then hundreds of fireflies came swarming through this quaint peaceful place. "Well I guess Juniper season is upon us. Isn't it beautiful?" His smile was so radiant, it emanated the hundreds of fireflies that just passed us by. "So it's true then." He grasped my hand while staring off into space, beyond what we all know. "What is it?" He looked at me, his eyes telling me that this is where he has been wanting to be all night. "I was just thinking that we never really know how many good things we have till they are gone." He lifted my chin so my eyes would meet his, his hand then slowly crept across my face cupping it perfectly. Now with one hand holding my waist as tightly as he could , the other holding my head in place as his lips met mine entwining us together in what was my very first kiss. I dreamt about it all night and the next morning I could barely focus on my exercise routine. I must've given up on trying to get it out of my mind because no matter what I tried it was all I could think about. His soft lips, his gentle hands as big as my face, his voice deep and ragged but more to being dulcet. I laid on the grass next to the fences, my arm covering my eyes, slowly drifting off back into a dream world filled with everything Donny. Nightmares plagued my dreams for some time, I awoke to Donny laying next to me. He rolled in my direction. "You okay?" I can't tell if his concern is genuine due to the smile that's on his face. "I'm fine." I stood and started back to the motel, I leave tomorrow night after all. Donny quickly caught up to me. "So there's this dance that's taking place at the observatory in a week and I was wondering if you would like to go with me." The realization that I can't back out of this mission and stay here with Donny forever is starting to set in. I wiped away a tear before Donny could see it. "I can't." That's right kearra just keep your answer short and simple, no matter how much it hurts and how much you wish you can go, don't forget what has to be done. He pushed passed me and then suddenly without warning stoped, effectively blocking the door to the motel. "I'm not gonna move till you tell me what's going on." I looked at him and shrugged. Moving closer to the side of the building, but of course Donny followed, I grabbed the drain pipe and scaled the side till I got to my window in which I entered. And just to tease him I waved him goodbye before shutting and locking both the window and door. "KEARRA!" He's now banging at my door screaming at the top of his lungs I honestly thought that if a guy would be screaming my name this loud it'd be more enjoyable. I packed all my clothes except my emerald draped silk gown. I laid it on the bed and just accepted the hysterical crying that came with it. Donny is and will always be one of the most important people in my life. I truly believe that it was love at first sight. Its been nine hours I'm starving. I've been locked up in my room for the last nine hours because I don't want to confront Donny, it's hard enough having to leave but to have him camp outside my door is torture! Especially since I can smell the soup he's cooking out there. " You know if you just open the door we could eat this together." The night was long, but the fresh air was nice. I slipped out the window, with my bags in hand and headed for the hospital. My uncle was waiting for me there, with food because I was starving, he smiled as i approached. "Tough get away?" Even though he was trying to be funny it hurt a lot more then he knew and a lot more then what I would ever let on. "Your friend Sano I believe it was, is gonna pick you up here in a few hours. So go eat and then get some rest ok?" I nodded. Honestly I can't wait to get out of this town and get back to my mission. I was fooling myself to think I could ever settle down with a normal civilian. Morning is almost here. Sano and I are already on the road back to the capital, it will be a long trip but at least we will be back to our routine. Sano handed me a blindfold to wear as we entered the city. I guess he didn't want me to see his secret hide out. I could feel the dampness and the cold of the dungeon walls. As we continued I began hearing the guardsmen walking in uniform to their superior. Sano took off my blindfold, we were standing in a sparring ring. "Now that you are healed up I need to know if you are still a worthy contestant. And what better way to prove that then a sparring match?" Six men stood before me, each had a weapon other then their obvious physical strength. "What do you want me to do Sano, choose who gets to try to kill me?" A devilish smile spread across his face. "Well at first I thought it'd be fun to have them all come at you at once but since you suggested that, sure why not, doesn't sound as much fun as you being ganged up on but it might still be entertaining enough.
