Rae's POV The house felt heavier that morning, like it knew Mom was coming back tomorrow and was already preparing to close its doors on us. I woke up tangled in Killian's arms, his chest warm against my back, his hand resting possessively on my hip. Sunlight slipped through the blinds in soft stripes, warming the sheets.
