Rae's POV The cramps were almost gone by the fifth day-just the occasional twinge, like a quiet reminder that my body was finally healing. I woke up tangled in Killian's arms, sunlight slipping through the blinds in soft, lazy stripes across the bed. His chest rose and fell steadily under my cheek, his hand resting low on my back, fingers splayed possessively even in sleep. The pool house smelled faintly of lavender from the bath he'd drawn me last night and the clean cotton of the sheets we'd changed together. I shifted slightly, testing-nothing sharp, just a gentle warmth. Relief washed over me. I smiled into his skin, pressing a soft kiss to his collarbone. He stirred, arm tightening around me.
