Rae's POV We were quiet for a minute after Mom's text lit up my phone screen. Killian's thumb had stopped moving on my thigh. He glanced over, saw my face, and let out a low, tired laugh that was half groan. "We're so screwed," he muttered again, shaking his head. "No souvenir. No proof we were anywhere near an art exhibit." I bit my lip, trying not to laugh. "We could say it was sold out?" "Mom's gonna ask for pictures. Or worse-she'll want to see the brochure."
