Seeing Zander standing waiting, his face etched with concern and pain, all Chloe wanted to do was run into his arms, but then she remembered he had caused her this pain. She knew she was being unreasonable. Of course, Zander would have had relationships with others. He was 87 years old. Yet still she could not stop the jealousy eating at her, made worse by the physical burning in her chest. So, she resisted going to him, and walked right past him into the hospital room.
