After their luxurious meal, Elena stretched with satisfaction, dabbing her lips with a silk napkin. "Alright, now that we’ve indulged our taste buds, it's time for retail therapy."
Aurora smirked, sipping the last of her iced coffee. "Why am I not surprised?"
"You shouldn’t be." Elena flipped her hair over her shoulder. "I saw the most divine pair of heels at Louboutin last week, and they’ve been haunting me ever since. You, my dear, are coming with me."
Aurora sighed but didn’t protest. Shopping with Elena was always an experience—one that involved extravagant purchases, trying on outfits she would never buy, and getting dragged into conversations about the latest luxury trends.
The two made their way to the boutique district, their presence turning a few heads as they entered one of the most exclusive designer stores. A sharply dressed sales associate immediately approached them with a polished smile. "Miss Elena, Miss Aurora, a pleasure to see you both again. We’ve just received a new collection that might interest you."
Elena beamed. "I knew today was going to be lucky. Show me everything."
As they were led deeper into the boutique, another associate, a younger woman with eager eyes, turned to Elena with a slight squeal. "Oh my God, Miss Elena! I follow you on every platform! Your styling tips are a lifesaver. Could I—would you mind signing something for me?"
Aurora raised a brow as Elena grinned, already reaching for the pen the fan shakily handed her. "Of course, darling! Fashion is meant to be shared. Stay fabulous, alright?"
The girl nodded enthusiastically, clutching her signed notebook like a prized possession before scurrying off. Aurora smirked. "Elena, do I need to start calling you a celebrity now?"
"Darling, I’ve been one. You’re just finally noticing." Elena winked before turning her attention back to the shoes. "Now, where were we? Ah! These beauties!"
She picked up a pair of ruby-red stilettos and held them up like a prize. "Aurora, look at these! Tell me they’re not perfection."
Aurora eyed them with skepticism. "They’re beautiful, but can you even walk in those?"
"Walking is a secondary concern. Looking fabulous is the priority!" Elena grinned before nudging Aurora. "Come on, live a little. Let’s find you something jaw-dropping."
Aurora chuckled. "Fine, but nothing too extravagant."
As they tried on outfits, sales staff hovered, bringing selections tailored to their tastes. One associate draped a bejeweled dress in front of Aurora. "This would be stunning on you, Miss Thompson. The color is perfect for your complexion."
Aurora gave it a glance. "It's nice, but not really my style."
Elena peeked over. "Oh, honey, at least try it. It wouldn’t hurt to step out of your comfort zone for once."
Aurora sighed but relented, slipping into the fitting room. Meanwhile, Elena had already moved on to handbags, clutching an emerald green purse against her side. "This screams power, don’t you think?"
"It screams expensive," Aurora replied as she stepped out, the dress fitting like a glove. The saleswoman clasped her hands. "Absolutely breathtaking!"
Elena twirled her finger. "Oh, we’re getting that. No arguments."
With their selections made, they approached the register, where Elena casually handed over a black platinum card. Aurora barely noticed until the cashier returned it with a polite, "Thank you, Miss Elena. The transaction is complete. Would you like a receipt?"
Aurora frowned, glancing at her friend. "Wait. Since when do you have a black card? Last I checked, you preferred paying with your own."
Elena gave a coy smile, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. "It’s not mine, technically. It’s his."
Aurora’s eyes widened. "His? As in, your mystery man? Elena!"
Elena giggled. "Oh, don’t give me that look. He insists. Said something about ‘why should my woman ever have to pay for anything?’ Who was I to argue?"
Aurora groaned. "So, it’s that serious now? You're using his card?"
"Relax, darling. It’s just shopping. If a man wants to spoil me, I’m going to let him. Anyway, now that my splurge is complete, should we hit the spa? I feel like I deserve a massage after all this hard work."
Aurora shook her head, amused but still processing the revelation. "Elena, you never cease to surprise me."
Elena linked arms with her. "And that, my dear, is why you love me. Now, let’s go get pampered."
