14We had been working on a special project with the federal government. The Culture Ministry agreed to sponsor a special issue of Bookology that featured only Canadian books and authors, all six of them. Along with it was a French issue that focused on Francophone writers and books. With the additional funding, we increased our distribution and newsstand presence. This was a big deal for us. It meant, that for once, an issue was paid for in its entirety and it came with publicity giving us more profile in the industry. I had worked on that deal for almost a year before it finally came to pass.
