Chapter 30Just over three and a half thousand miles away, deep below the White House in the PEOC, (Presidential Emergency Operations Centre), President Hill sat at a large oval mahogany table and cradled his head in his hands. Looking up, he surveyed the eclectic mixture of personnel who had accompanied him into the bunker, one that had been built on the command of President Franklin Roosevelt during the dark days of World War Two. The bunker was designed to withstand all but a direct nuclear surface impact, and there were those who wagered it could even survive one of those, if the yield of the nuke wasn't too high.
