Maybe she’d just had trouble getting away. He should call and remind Maude that Missy had a home to return to. He stepped through the back door, shrugged out of his denim jacket and hung it on the pegged rack on the outer wall. From the feel of that wind, he’d say the season’s first storm was coming in.
