The drive back to the city was quiet. Darick had left word with Mrs. Medford that her husband should return Liliana to her apartment over the flower shop.
"I'm sorry, miss. Unfortunately, there was a crisis in Europe which we had to prepare his shipment to handle. I'm sure Mr. Xander will be in touch to communicate the details. We all look forward to having your presence here at the estate as the Mistress of the household."
