CHAPTER FOUR The man who was wheeled into the room on a wheelchair was incredibly handsome. His hair was short and wavy and it was auburn in color. He had Hades black eyebrows that gave him a cool look. He also had a pair of saturn shaped eyes that held the most stunning pair of brown eyes Iyra had ever seen. He also had arched cheekbones and a lantern jaw that was square and firm. He looked nothing like the monster the rumors described. The only shame was the fact was that he was a crippled. James wheeled the prince to where she stood. Iyra found herself staring at him but he didn't even spare her a glance and looked straight at the alpha. "You sent for me Uncle?", the prince said. "Yes, yes. This is Iyra, your bride to be", Alpha introduced. "It's an honor, my prince", Iyra greeted. Kiaan gave her a fleeting glance before turning back to his uncle without responding. Iyra noticed this. Was he ignoring her?, she wondered. "As for the wedding, I was thinking it's best we hold it soon like..", the alpha began to speak and Iyra turned her attention to him. "There will be no wedding", Kiaan said softly interrupting the alpha. Iyra looked at him surprised. Kiaan was well aware of the surprised look Iyra was giving him but he tried his best not to look at her but rather focused on his uncle who was now slowly bubbling with rage. When he had been informed of the arrival of his bride to be, Kiaan had been prepared for anything and everything, for his uncle's wrath, everything. But what he hadn't been prepared for was the beauty who had gasped at his entrance and stared at him with curious eyes as he was wheeled into the throne room. At 5'7 ft tall, Iyra was certainly taller than most women her age and it was the first thing Kiaan noticed when he entered the room. She also had a really slender figure with moderate curves in the right places. Her hair was a dirty brown and it fell down to her shoulder in curls. Her large doe eyes stared at him curiously and Kiaan was immediately stunned by her beauty. He had to mentally shock himself to remember why he was here. "What did you say?", Kiaan's uncle asked in a slow and calm manner but Kiaan didn't miss the menace lurking behind that calmness. "I said there's not going to be a wedding", Kiaan repeated in an equally calm tone. Kiaan and his uncle seemed to engage in a staring contest for a few minutes before the alpha finally exploded in anger. "You would dare to defy me?", Alpha Henryasked in the same calm tone but the menace in his aura was growing by the minute. Kiaan continued to look at him calmly. "I tried to be reasonable and explain to you why I don't want to get married but you didn't listen. If defiance is the only way, then so be it", Kiaan said. Alpha Henryimmediately went red with anger and his veins looked like they were about to pop. "How dare you?!!", he raged. Iyra flinched at the outburst but Kiaan looked on calmly and unbothered. "There isn't going to be a wedding uncle. I am not going to change my mind on the matter", Kiaan repeated his stance in a calm yet firm tone. "If you'll excuse me I need to rest", he added. Not leaving his uncle room to respond to his words, Kiaan signaled to James that he was ready to be wheeled out. Mr. James glanced at the alpha who immediately signaled him not to move. He looked uneasily at Kiaan. Kiaan who noticed the uneasiness in Mr. James face looked at his uncle and immediately understood what was happening. Undeterred, Kiaan reached for the wheels of his wheelchair and began to wheel himself out of the throne room. As he passed by Iyra who was staring at him, her large doe eyes filled with awe and admiration, Kiaan felt something warm in his chest but he didn't show it as he continued to wheel himself out of the throne room. "Kiaan! Kiaan, come back here! I am not done talking to you!", Alpha Henrycalled after him angrily but Kiaan didn't stop. Iyra stood in the very tense throne room awkwardly. She wasn't sure what was supposed to happen now or what she was supposed to do. She had been sent here to marry the alpha prince but apparently the alpha prince didn't want to marry her. This was a turn of events she had not expected. "James!", Alpha Lawrence's thundering voice pulled Iyra out of her thoughts. "Show the lady to her room. She will remain in this castle until she is wedded to Kiaan. Whether Kiaan likes it or not, this wedding will hold. I am the alpha and that is my say on the matter!", Alpha Henry declared before storming out of the room in anger. Iyra stood blinking her eyes in disbelief. "Follow me this way, my lady", James said as he led the way once again and Iyra followed closely behind him. "This is your room, my lady", James said as he stopped in front of a door and opened it. Iyra walked in. The room was incredibly large, even bigger than her room back home. There was a large canopy bed in the middle of the room, a chair and a table by the side. The room like the other parts of the castle she had seen was tastefully and exquisitely decorated. "If there's any thing you'd need or any changes you want made, please let me know", James added from behind her and Iyra nodded. "If you'll excuse me my lady, I have to attend to some other duties. I'll send a maid to assist you in settling in", James said and left, closing the door behind him. Iyra was left alone in the large room. She looked around the room for a few minutes before slowly walking towards the mirror. She stared at her reflection and as she stared, she replayed the incident from earlier in her head. The prince hadn't so much as looked at her, did he really not like her? The alpha insisted they would be married but what i f the prince remained stubborn till the end? What would become of her?
