Chapter 31
Shane walked through the party with a smile so big, his cheeks hurt. He loved having his family surrounding him as well as friends he hadn’t seen in a long time. The fact that Maggie had pulled this off for him made him love her even more. He drank from a beer that pushed him from tipsy to buzzed and he watched Maggie work the room. She talked to everyone, made them smile, handed out drinks.
He needed to slow down on the drinking if he planned to enjoy his present from her. As much as he said he didn’t like surprises, her offering up a Catholic school skirt was one he’d enjoy. This party was well worth the surprise as well. Maybe it was time for him to deliver a shock of his own. He sought Maggie out, wanting to hold her and keep her by his side.
