Chapter 23 Shane paced in his empty living room talking with Jimmy O’Malley. He’d already laid out what had happened during his home visit with Carroll and the interviews Carroll had done with Maggie and Jenna. Jimmy sighed. It was late and the man was probably exhausted, but Moira had made him return Shane’s call tonight. Those O’Learys were a pushy bunch. “I don’t know Carroll, but I do know a lie is more than just a red flag during the hiring process.” “But I didn’t lie.” “Doesn’t matter. It comes across that way.
