Chapter 8Shit. f**k. s**t. Silver rushed to the side of the Magcat that should have contained Connie’s consciousness. He checked its body over, quickly passing his still-wrinkled fingers over fur and through feathers, trying to work out what had gone so wrong. The spasms continued to rock its body as he found the source of the blood-smell. The Magcat had convulsed so hard that it had broken both of its back legs. Tears in the skin had opened vertically, running from thigh to knee, now partially dried into tacky rivulets.
