Where was she? Archer was freaking out. Lily was gone. Rocky wouldn’t let him leave until he drew some blood so he could compare it to the sample they took from the bunker they thought Jaymes was in. As soon as the needle was out, Archer was gone.
And so was Lily.
She didn’t answer her door when he knocked, so he picked the lock and let himself in. Her apartment was empty.
Panic flooded him and only got worse when he looked outside and saw her red Civic was still in the lot. She was gone, and she hadn’t left on her own.
He turned to run back upstairs when the door to the apartment across the hall opened. He nearly fell to his knees and wept when he saw her standing there, looking at him like he was losing his mind.
