She looked up and there he was, staring right back at her.
For a few seconds, Stacy couldn't move. She stood frozen on the spot. The smell of antiseptic clung to her clothes.
She immediately acted tough and stood up. She faced him and was ready for anything that was coming, but all she knew was she wasn't going back.
After staring at each other for what seemed like forever, he finally moved. He walked past her like nothing had happened.
Stacy turned to look at him. She was dumbfounded, but she knew this wasn't going to end well.
She shrugged it off and went to see her nanny.
She got into the room and saw her grandmother staring out the window. She didn't notice Stacy until she got closer.
"Nanny," Stacy called, her voice trembling with emotions.
"Oh, Stacy," Nanny Tinanny called with a bright smile on her face. She was obviously happy to see Stacy.
"How are you feeling? Are you okay? Do you feel pain anywhere?" Stacy asked continuously.
"I'm fine Stacy, I feel okay," Nanny Tinanny assured before Stacy finally calmed down.
She was so happy to hear her nanny was okay.
At this point, Nanny Tinanny was the only important person in her life. Losing her would mean losing the only thing that mattered in her life.
Stacy sat down and held her nanny's hand and rubbed it continuously.
"Stacy dear," Nanny Tinanny called.
"I'm here nanny," Stacy replied, giving her attention to her.
"Where did you find the money for the surgery?" Nanny asked. Immediately, Stacy became tensed. She never thought of an excuse before coming.
"Um, I... I took some loan," Stacy said awkwardly.
"Stacy, I know what you did," she said, looking softly at Stacy. "You didn't have to sell yourself out for me," Nanny Tinanny said with tears hanging at the corners of her eyes.
Stacy felt touched.
The word sell echoed in Stacy's ears. Her mind went back to the signed contract. Pen shaking. Jayden sliding the papers across the desk. "3 years, Miss Hart." Her signature looked small next to his.
She snapped back to the present. Nanny's eyes were wet.
"Nanny, it's actually okay. Jayden isn't as bad as you think," Stacy tried to convince her.
"I heard the nurses talking, and it didn't seem like he was nice." Stacy then figured out she learned it from the nurses.
"Nanny, I will be fine, I promise." Stacy reassured her.
"So you mean you're fine with getting married to Jayden Knight?" her nanny said, figuring that she couldn't convince her.
"WHAT!!!" A loud voice came from the door. Both Stacy and Nanny Tinanny turned only to meet Elsa standing at the entrance, looking like someone who has seen a ghost.
"What... what did you just say?" she said, looking directly at Nanny Tinanny before looking back at Stacy.
"Did I just hear you say she got married to Jayden Knight?" Elsa said, pointing directly at Stacy. The surprise and unbelief on her face made Stacy want to laugh.
Stacy had always known how obsessed Elsa was with Jayden, so her reaction wasn't much of a surprise.
Stacy stood up and walked closer.
"Yes, I did. Jayden is now my husband," Stacy said with a smug look on her face. All she wanted was to make jealousy burn her down.
Elsa went crazy hearing those words. It felt like her head was about to explode.
"What's going on here?" Amber's voice came into the room. Elsa saw her and immediately ran to her.
"Mom, can you believe that she is actually the Stacy in the news? The one who got married to my Jayden? It's her," Elsa said with tears hanging in the corner of her eyes.
Amber's steps paused as she heard those words. She immediately looked at Stacy with wide eyes.
"Is... is that true?" Amber asked, expecting a negative answer, but Stacy was ready to rub that in their faces.
"Yes, I got married to Jayden Knight and I'm not planning to let him go," Stacy said with a triumphant look on her face. She finally got to them. But that didn't last long.
"Is that so?" A thick masculine voice came from the entrance. They all turned and saw Jayden leaning lazily on the wall.
