The water from the lake was freezing as I doused it over my head but as Flavia predicted, the walnut husks were doing their job. At first, they just stained my hands and left irregular streaks in my white hair. But the more I rubbed it all together, the more the brown soaked into my hair. By the time I was done, there wasn’t a single white hair left on my head. My doubts about Flavia’s plan to disguise ourselves melted away as I stared at my rippling reflection in the water. The dark hair framed my pale face even more and it brought out my eyes. Not in a good way though. It made me look… Harsher. Stern. Dead.
