(Cassie’s POV)
I cried myself to sleep, clutching on to my mate. I don’t know if it was the exhaustion from what had happened or just being near him, but I fell into a deep dreamless sleep. I was woken by Amelia. She gently shook my shoulder as she smiled down at me.
“Hey Cassie, sweetie” I looked up at her through swollen eyes and a pounding headache
“Amelia,” I mumbled, “What time is it?”
“It’s just after 2pm, I thought that you should eat something” she gestured to a plate on the bedside table and I shook my head. The idea of food right now made me feel sick.
