Julian stood just inside the room far enough away from the door for it to close but close enough that there was no getting past him. I knew he was watching me as I assessed the room, and saw his smirk widen. Even from where I was sitting I could see his beast just behind his eyes. Not his wolf, his beast. There was a difference, I just couldn’t say what.
He stepped a little closer into the room and everything in his movement screamed predator. His eyes flicked to Julia, who shrunk back into her seat as if the very fabric we sat on could swallow her away.
