Chapter-35

'Is this how a villain is treated?' After that episode in the library, she wasn't still yet over. Her mood decreased to harsh winter. Not a smile was heard from her tone for a week. Alina came to visit her when she heard about the incident in the library. Entirely, everyone from the scarlet palace had heard about it. Every time, she would go for her early morning spring bath and clay massage, the maids would either snicker or murmur behind her back. So to say it wasn't enough, those maids who would deliver the things for her have even stopped sending them to her. Maria or Rosetta would be the ones to go and fetch it. 'Why am I getting bullied when I should be the one bullying them?' Her forbearance with the incident towards her was truly amazing. Rosetta didn't think her master would be this tolerant as not to throw those cups and pots toward them. She thinks if it was her, she would have her swords out from the sheath by now though she doesn't possess a sword. 'My lady is too kind.' Is what Rosetta would always compliment on her mind but always ends with a question. 'But for how long?' Alina who was with them would complain and regret that she wasn't there when those occurrences happened. Renee was busy as always looking for a way to create a treatment and the last time Lucien met her, she looks more better than before. "Tell me their names and I'll take care of them." Lucien was able to ease down telling her it was okay and that she'll take care of it in her own way. "I do not mean to pry, however, what happened in the gazebo?" Alina curiously asked crunching the cookies that were just baked by herself. She meant to bring it to Lucien but she has well joined for the tea. "To be honest, nothing certain," Lucien answered, crunching the cookies in delight. Alina's baking was incredible and she wouldn't mind eating it every day. This was something she always look forward to when Alina comes for a visit. "It was just an evening tea for myself." "Oh," Alina nodded her head sipping the warm brewed tea not satisfied with her answer however, she didn't questioned further.  Having someone to talk to about her day and whatever had happened made Lucien felt more relaxed and calmer. Alina soon afterward excused herself as the sky starts to turn dawn. And just as she left, Rosetta hands her the letter which was from her brother again. In an urgency, she carefully tears open not willing to move from her seat which she has been sitting in for hours. Her eyes sparkle as her thin lips spread across her face. Rosetta had left with the empty cups and plates. Her brother was more incredible than she anticipated. It wrote more about those slaves who had been sold on the black market.  50 Aristocratic took the slaves from the Galatians Empire. The rest were from different regions which might be a little difficult to track them down.  30 females and 20 males were taken away. As soon as Rosetta appears, Lucien quickly made herself immerse in a blank paper with a quill. "Rosetta, do you remember how your brother looks like?" Rosetta didn't expect to hear a sudden question, however, she responded, "I am not sure since it's already been years but I do remember how he looks like when he was young." "That will be sufficient," Lucien responded head still lying low. "I want you to go to a particular store that is not very discernible to people around or might be new. Since you've been here for a longer period, I'm certain that you are familiar with every nook of this Capital." "I am, my lady," Rosetta stares down at her hand who was writing with lightning speed. "Do you've any work for me?" "I certainly do." As soon as she was done. She pricks her hand letting her blood drip on the letter which disappeared a second later. A blood seal that could only be read by her family. If anyone tried to be forceful, the letter burn itself into thin ashes. This was one thing Lucien loves about this world. "Go to that store and let that person portray your bother as you illustrate. Let that person not be suspicious when you are handing more than what he asked for. Thereupon, send that portrait along with the letter." And she hands over the letter to Rosetta who took it without further question. "I understood, my lady." With a bow, Rosetta left. She wasn't going to ride a carriage or a horse. There was already a teleportation spell for the maids and butlers who would be sent straight to the main capital for their work. Of course, there were guards and mages available who were watching over for any suspicious activity. Lucien couldn't think of anything when she had nothing to do. She had enough of drinking too much tea, for it wasn't easy to keep on going to the washroom with a gown. '*sigh* I miss my phone~' And for the first time, she suddenly wanted to have her phone to be beside her. She could either be playing online games, chatting with her friends, watching a movie, or either listening to music. There is an opera here, however, she never felt so bored in her entire life. The symphony made her feel more drowsy and the lady or the gentleman who was singing was kind of never-ending. The only thing she enjoyed was the stage play. It was truly impressive. However, right now, she wasn't in the mood for that. She was even prohibited to enter the library now. She sighs and rings the tiny golden bell. Maria appeared in a few seconds. She asked her to send the head butler to her chamber. "Good evening, Lady Lucien." The butler appeared guided by Maria to the door. "What can I be of your assistance today?" He bowed and politely asked what was expected from a head butler. 'I'll forever remember him.' "Castor, I'm certain that you've heard a rumor going on around about me." Lucien hasn't moved from where she had been seated. "What do you've to say about it?" "Pardon me, Lady Lucien," Castor responded without reluctance. "Rumor goes in and around the palace which has nonentity to do with someone who is working under the royal family. I stood for no side for I was never present nor it's my right to a magistrate who is right or wrong." Lucien impressively listens with a smile on her face. It was enough to know that this butler wouldn't be putting her into any problem. "Thank you, Castor," Lucien cheerfully responded crossing her leg elegantly. "I appreciate your solace words. There is one thing I wished for you to help me with." "Anything, Lady Lucien." "Since you are familiar with what happened, I am now not permitted to enter the library, however, I'm in need to read some books. Does this palace have any place where I could get a book?" From what Lucien had heard from Ivan, there is another old library but she wasn't sure if she'll be allowed. She just tried to give it a shot. "Hmm!!" The head butler thought for a moment rubbing his chin as he gazed up at the ceiling. "There is a possibility that it's available however, it's a restricted place except for a particular area."  Lucien widen her eyes in surprise, "there is?" "Yes." The butler smiles and continues, "would you like to visit now?" "Absolutely." Lucien couldn't believe her ears. She quickly stood up with gleaming eyes.
