ALEX HAS ONLY BEEN away from Paul for a few hours but, as he pulls into Paul’s driveway, he feels like he’s been gone a lot longer. Paul is waiting for him at the door, a dark silhouette against the cozy glow of light inside. He kisses Alex as soon as he steps across the threshold, warm and easy. Paul’s mouth feels more familiar to Alex than two nights together would seem to allow. “Ready to go?” Paul asks, when he finally pulls back, reaching up to straighten the beanie on Alex’s head. “If there are fans I’m blaming you.” At the restaurant while they wait for the hostess, Paul puts a hand on his back.
