ALEX CANNOT BELIEVE this is happening. But his own shock has become such a constant state of affairs he’s starting wonder how severely his perception has been altered. If his fairytale has stunted him, though, he’s grateful for it, especially if it’ll mean he’ll last a little longer because oh God. There is no way he’s going to be able to keep his eyes open — right now, he’s not convinced he’s not going to tip over — and Paul’s going to have to live with that.
At least that’s what Alex thinks until Paul pinches the inside of his thigh sharply every time his eyes roll and flutter closed. He wants to be more outside of his own thoughts than he is, but Paul’s not letting him.
