10 Friday drags as Fridays do. Paul is tired but excited by the time he finally gets home. It’s only been a week since he had Alex here, but it seems longer. He can’t wait to see him again away from work. Alex is clearly, maybe even calculatedly, a compendium of stories that he might one day tell Paul, but only if Paul very, very lucky. Now that the weekend’s here Paul doesn’t just want him, he wants to earn those tales. He turns on the iPod player in its dock on the counter. He hums along as he cooks, stopping from time to time to take a disgruntled Todd down from the counter when he gets too bold in exploring what’s on the stove.
