After the holidays, the return to life at Fourth is a slow trickle, with production and writers filtering in a couple of weeks before the actors are back on set. Paul’s one of the first there simply because he’s in town, and it’s become increasingly easier for him to write — whether for the show or his own projects — in the office.
Outside of his own house, Paul is less haunted by an Alex that was his and less dogged by a Craig who is trying to get him to be a better boyfriend this time around. Even after over a year’s intermission, the habits of his work and his inability to negotiate with Craig about them successfully seem to remain.
He’s the only one there one afternoon when Victor strolls in and spins a chair around to sit in front of his desk.
