Filming in New York is starting to wrap up, which means both even more press for Fourth, and the looming prospect of returning to home. L.A., City of Angels and also Paul, and Craig, and the whole giant mess that Alex was happy to pretend was a little less real than he knows it is so long as he was attached to it only via a phone line.
The seeming unreality of it is nothing like an excuse for not calling now, though, as much as Alex might want it to be. As many times as Alex thinks about it, and as much as he wants to, in the end he doesn’t reach for the phone again. There’s nothing he can say that he would mean.
