Chapter 9

765 Words
*Unknown POV* I glanced down at the book in front of me, admiring its beauty after all these years. The binder was still its blood red color with the gold designs on the cover. The same book my father passed down to me just as his father did to him and so on. A scuffle of feet interrupted my thoughts as I looked up at the pathetic group of rogue wolves in front of me. Their eyes did not glance up at me once as I stood up from my seat and walked towards them. My wolf chuckled darkly, practically smelling the fear coming from everyone in the room. “Commander Jason.” I called out, my eyes scanning for man in charge of my patrols. A man around his late thirties came forth as he cleared his throat. He had a short peppered black beard and hair. His eyes were nearly as dark as his hair minus the hint of hazel around the iris. “My Lord.” “Who was the man responsible for retrieving this book?” I asked noticing the shared glances several of my men giving each other. “Morpheus, my Lord.” Commander Jason answered almost immediately. I rolled my eyes at the fear radiating off my commander. “And where, must I ask, is this-Morpheus?” I questioned. “He is out on patrol in the northern part of our territory.” “Very well, when he returns send him to me with urgency.” I walked back to my throne, with was carved black obsidian. “Leave Commander Jason and I.” I ordered. At once, the men scurried off like rats to do their duties. “How are the preparations for our next plan coming along?” I asked as I filled my cup with wine. “Everything is in order my lord. We are just waiting on your word to continue.” Commander Jason informed me just as the doors opened to reveal a young man with dark slicked back hair walking towards us. “Ah, my best warrior in this pathetic pack.” I joked as the young man approached. His eyes darkened as he glanced at my commander. “Jason.” He greeted with dislike. “Mutt.” Commander Jason growled back. I chuckled at them going at it like children. “Commander, you are dismissed.” He bowed his head slightly towards me before walking out of the room, leaving just me and the young man. “Tell me, why do you insist on keeping him here? He is sorry excuse of a commander.” He questioned, eyeing me curiously. Those same eyes I gazed upon all those years ago on my own kin, before I betrayed them. “He keeps the men on their feet, not to mention he is a essential key to the our plans.” I explained as I flipped through the pages in the book that Morpheus stole for me. My eyes scanned the young man and his uneasiness of the Commander. “Settle down Samael. There is no need for you to be so on guard.” “No need?” He scoffed and stood in front of me. “Our plan to eliminate the Dark Packs resources were ruined by a women. The mate of the future alpha.” Samael studied my facial expressions closely. “Or have you forgotten you old foo-“ A shadow figure appeared from the darkness and wrapped its hand around Samael’s neck. He grasped at the shadow, desperate to get free. His face turning a slight shade of purple as I stood in front of him with a emotionless gaze. “Tread carefully boy. I have more power than you could ever hope for. Do not test me” I snarled as the shadow fell back into darkness and left Samael falling onto his knees. “Since you so kindly offered, get the women and bring her to me. I don’t care how you do it but bring her to me alive.” Samael stood up slowly with a look of hatred written across his face, but regardless he bowed his head and left my sight. I sat back down and opened the book to get what I had been after all this time, but to my dismay, the note wasn’t there at all. It had all been for nothing. A hatred filled my mind as I threw the book across the room. Hell was going to emerge soon and I was going to rule it all.
