Chapter 4

Lilith’s POV

“Tell me more about yourself?” I heard Brenda ask me and I looked at her before glancing off into the distance.

Where do I even begin?

“Well, I’m the youngest child to Luther and Dahlia Myers. My sister is the new Luna-“

I stopped and held back a few tears as I spoke about Viv.

I hadn’t been able to call her and I had tried not to think about it.

Brenda watched me closely with curious eyes.

“It’s okay to miss your sister. I would. I still do miss my siblings.”

I watched her face fall and felt a grieving aura come from her.

“Your siblings?” I asked quietly. I didn’t want to bring back memories she too wanted to forget.

“Yes. Ophelia, Marcie, and Augustus.” She smiled softly as she thought of them.

“Augustus was the oldest, always looking after the rest of us and keeping me out of trouble. The twins, Ophelia and Marcie, were next. You could never keep them apart and they were the trouble-makers.” She laughed. “One time, they put frogs in our coven leaders bed and the entire village could hear the poor women scream after my sisters.”

I smiled softly. “They sound wonderful.”

Brenda frowned slightly. “They were wonderful.”

Before I could say anything, the last person I wanted to see, came up with a smirk on his face.

“Brenda.” His eyes looked me up and down. “Lili.”

“It’s Lilith to you, Alpha Reyes.” I crossed my arms as Brenda just smiled to herself.

“This is where I leave.” She turned to me. “I do enjoy your company. You should meet my daughter, Thalia. She’s your age and a rebellious one at that.” She rolled her eyes at the last part before walking away.

Thalia?

Sounded pretty cool to me.

I heard Elias clear his throat and I glared at him.

“Can I help you?”

He smirked and walked close to me.

“Yes, yes you can actually.” He took me by the waist and pulled me to him before I could move.

Yes, touch me more please.

No. No. Bad wolf!

I struggled against him but my strength was nothing compared to his.

“You can be my sparing partner.”

He let me go and I clumsily regained my balance as he simply walked off.

“YEAH JUST GO AHEAD! LEAVE ME HERE.” I yelled after him, half expecting him to come back and wait.

He didn’t.

I didn’t want to lose my way again so I quickly ran after him.

“You can’t just leave me behind like that!” I explained and he shrugged.

“You’re my mate. Get use to finding your way around cause this will be your home soon. After our marking ceremony-“

“Woah, woah, woah.” I can to a stop and pulled him with me. “There isn’t going to be a marking ceremony.”

Elias tilted his head to the side.

“Why not? Do you want a more private event?”

“Have you gone insane?”

He opened his mouth to say something but I interrupted before he could.

“You know what don’t answer that. Let me make one thing very, very clear to you.”

His eyebrows raised at me.

“You and I. Whatever this is?” I pointed between us. “It’s not going to happen.”

“Reject me then.”

I looked at Elias with shock.

“Excuse me?”

“If this isn’t going to happen, reject me.”

Is he being serious? Doesn’t he know the consequences behind a mate rejection? The pain?

I’m sure he isn’t completely stupid Juno. Maybe he is testing us.

“I’m dropping this conversation.” I replied and walked off.

“Are you serious? You’re going to walk off after I say reject me?” He called after me. “Isn’t that what you want? To be free-“

“Can you just shut up and show me where this facility-“

In an instant, Elias was in front of me. His hand was gripping my hair and our bodies were dangerous close. I could feel his heartbeat against my chest as his eyes darkened.

“Elias.”

I spoke his name softly and he looked around quickly before pulled me into an alley way between two buildings.

“Say it again.”

“What-“

“My name. Say my name again.” His eyes were filled with lust.

What would happen if I said it?

Would I regret it?

More importantly, did I want to find out?

Elias leaned close, eyeing my lips and glanced back at me. His eyes kept switching colors as if he was fighting for control with his wolf.

My breathing quickened when he placed his hands on my waist and pulled me even closer. I could feel the bulged in his pants and a soft moan escaped from my mouth.

His eyes searched mine when he heard my moan.

“Say it.”

Our lips were nearly touching, our noses brushed against each other and his hands moved to my lower back.

I defiantly glared at him, quickly making up my mind.

“No.”

I pushed him away and quickly walked off, leaving him alone in the alley.

I ended up finding the training facility after a few minutes. My heart was still racing after being so close to my mate.

Why did you leave him there?

I heard Juno’s voice echo in my head. She was aggravated at my stubbornness and for not letting him touch us more.

We have training.

Excuses!

She growled and I could tell that she was circling around, angry that she hadn’t been set free since the morning of Vivian’s wedding.

I’ll shift later Juno, let you get some fresh air.

My wolf scoffed at me.

Let me?

I didn’t hear her after that.

A voice interrupted my conversation with Juno and I looked up to see the guard, Parker, from yesterday.

“I see that you’ve gotten some rest.” He greeted with a shy smile. I shrugged and looked around, keeping a watchful eye out for my mate.

Parker seemed nicer than most of the guards here and so I decided that he was someone I could be friends with.

Maybe he could lend me a phone to get in contact with Viv and Matthew?

“Besides all the nightmares, I slept more than I did in three days.” I admitted.

His face fell and he sighed.

“On behalf of everyone, I apologize for the attack on your home.”

I rolled my eyes.

“It’s not your apology to make. It’s his.” I growled.

“The Alpha is quite stubborn-“

“It’s what I deserve. If I’m to be his mate. Then he needs to get over that.”

Parker raised his brows at me.

“So you’ve accepted the Alpha?”

I looked at him in confusion.

“Wh-“

Fuck. Why did I say that?

“No. I haven’t. I won’t.” I tried cover up my mistake but he looked more amused than anything.

I turned my attention away and looked towards groups of pack members sparing with each other.

Some were training with their agility skills on courses, while others focused more on close combat in small arenas.

“We have one of the most largest training facilities in the North. Might I add, the best as well.” Parker informed as he looked around with me.

“Definitely bigger than what we have.” I admitted as my eyes wandered around in excitement.

“Want to train together?” He asked and I nodded.

“Might as well since I’m going to be here for awhile.” I grunted and he nodded and he lead us to an arena farthest from everyone else. I was thankful for that. The North was known well for their strength and I was not ready to be more embarrassed than I already was.

“Ever trained before?”

I glanced at Parker, who walked across from me with a smirk.

“Excuse me?”

“Have. You. Ever-“

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I have.” I interrupted.

He chuckled at my reaction and starting circling me like I was prey.

“What-“

Before I could even start, Parker swung a punch towards my face.

I narrowly escaped and went to throw a punch of my own, but it was interrupted when he crouched down and swung his leg under mine.

Bam.

My body hit the ground and the breath was knocked out of me.

I quickly sat up and glared at Parker with annoyance.

“You didn’t even give me a warning!”

He shrugged at my response.

“An enemy won’t give you a warning. They don’t care if you’re ready or not, and they will kill you.”

He has a fair point you know?

He still didn’t have to be an ass about it.

Before I could even say no, Juno pulled through and took control.
