Jessica's POV: I go over my last strand of hair with the flat iron one more time before unplugging it. I wrap the cord around it, then lay it on my make up table. I sigh and sit up straighter in my small stool, inspecting myself in the mirror further. There's a small part of the bruise on my face showing, so I quickly cover it with more concealer.      "Jessica!" Abby screams up the stairs at me. I jump, knocking over a tube of mascara. I quickly pick it up with shaky hands while I hear Abby approaching my room. My parents put me on the second floor because it's only a two-story house and out of the way so they don't have to pass my room every time they walk by.
