Spencer picks me up on Sunday to take us to his sister’s house. Funny enough, I’m equally excited and nervous to be with his family. They are people I already know, but still, it feels so official to be there with him after so long that I can’t help but feel like this. The last time I went to this house, we were still in high school, when they lived with their grandma after their parents’ death. It’s Aubrie and her family’s house now as their grandparents have also passed. Before he can turn off the car or even begin to get out of it, his niece Caitlin shows up at the front door, rushing toward her uncle with her cute, curly blonde hair bobbing over her shoulders, her little arms stretched in front of her.
