It was finally over, and no one could quite believe it. Emily had attacked Colin and Christina with love and affection the second we had walked through the door. It was heartbreaking to see a mother so desperate to have her children safe. It said a lot about the female and Carl was more than relieved that this horrible chapter of their lives had ended. Roma and Adolf had stayed behind at the mansion to clean up whatever was left of Audrey and Damien. Carl would be forever grateful for that. Although he had questions about what had happened to him, he would wait.
“Is it really over?” he heard Daniel whisper to Ayden, and he glanced over at father and son as Ayden put his arm around Daniel.
“It is really over,” Ayden declared with joy. “We can finally go home,” of course, Carl knew
