We had split up and at the time it had sounded like a good idea. However, three hours later, I realized that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea. Colin and Tina still hadn’t returned, and it was starting to worry me. I glanced over at Heath and I could clearly see that he was feeling the same way. I headed over to him and followed his gaze out into the wild.
“Why haven’t they returned?” he asked softly.
“I don’t know,” I admitted. “But I do know that he isn’t in trouble,” I added. Yes, I was worried, but I didn’t feel as if my mate was lying dead somewhere.
