The quiet forest was disturbed by the thundering paws and loud snarls coming from the edge of it. Massive furred bodies erupted from the fringe of trees, heading towards the center of the forest where a lone villa stood.
Lark stood behind his desk, a number of papers sprawled on it; he concluded some plans for stopping the rising number of rogue attacks to his pack. John, his beta gave some of his opinions to his Alpha.
"Hmm, they might have gathered enough men to attack us but I wonder why they are attacking us so randomly?" his beta asked, face scrunched while thinking, he himself was thinking why too.
"Maybe they're trying to know where exactly he is. Even if they acquired enough men they still needed to know his exact location or else all of this is for naught." John suddenly spouted out. Lark nodded in silent agreement seeing as it's the only reason behind.
Both their musing was cut short when someone contacted them that a group of rogues entered their territory. "Alpha we spotted a group of five wolves heading to your villa. We are currently holding them off at the northern side of the forest."
"Hold them until we get there, we'll be the one talking to the bastards. We'll be there in a minute." He barked out, before closing the mind link between them. John and he immediately ran towards the forest and they shifted in mid-air shredding their clothes in the process.
As their paws touched the ground they bolted with inhumane speed towards the rogues. In just a few minutes, they both reached the place and Lark lounge quickly at the nearest wolf. He pinned him down, biting his jugular off as it struggled on his arm.
The body went limp and he tossed him aside as he began to attack another. After a few snarls and bites, the forest quieted once again as Lark and John stood there with bodies sprawled lifeless under their paws, blood dripping down their muzzles.
Lark eyed the last struggling wolf in their captivity and he glared as the werewolf bared it's fangs at him. His dark eyes turned darker even as he swiped his claws at the rogue's muzzle before turning into a tree to change back.
He emerged from the tree clad only in a boxer as he commanded the rogue with his alpha tone. "Shift!" he commanded, the rogue was dragged to a nearby tree and he emerged afterwards fully shifted. The rogue was held by two other werewolves as Lark approached him and grabbed him by the neck, he glared at him trying as he struggled to break free.
"Look here you bastard, what are your stupid plans?" Lark spat at him putting enough pressure on his neck, a warning that he should answer him or else. The rogue smirked at him taunting, nearing the end of his patience he gripped the rogue's neck more, his dark eyes turning darker.
"You can kill me but I won't tell you anything." was the rogue's firm reply, he narrowed his eyes at him. "Is that so? Then I should grant your wish then." His voice was coated with threat and malice. He let his claws out before beheading the man.
Lark walked off back to his villa, while John walked behind him. "You could have used him to tell us anything he know." John stated putting his hands on his hips. "It's fine. He's useless any way." John sighed, "We could have used other methods to get information from him." Lark just continued walking not really listening to his beta.
The two entered the villa and they were greeted by an old maid. After seeing the state of the two, Maris crossed her arms giving them quite a glare. "Don't you dare enter this house with all those blood dripping from you, I just finished cleaning." Swatting them away with her hands.
They both sweat dropped before they went back and headed to a shower room located outside the villa. "So what's our plan? The attacks are too often now, we should really think this through." John mused. "You're right John, we should plan carefully about this, and we'll go back to the pack house." Lark said after washing his whole body.
"Well we should start training our young ones now, besides how long are you gonna be at the pack house?" he asked as they walked back inside the villa. "Maybe about a week, I would look at the training menu you'll make and I'll help train them."
"Maris, please pack my bag. I'll be away for about a week or so." He said to his maid and she nodded before storming off. "You should rest for a bit before we get going." He advised to his beta. "Ok, I'll do that." John nodded, heading towards the sofa before dosing off.
Lark went to his room and he caught Maris arranging his clothes. "Are there any leads there yet? I hope these attacks stop." Maris commented in a sad voice. Lark just stood there in silence, "Besides you should be looking for your mate now. Not wasting your time with these stupid rogues." She looked around the room, frowning at the lonely atmosphere it exudes.
"I think it's much fine that I haven't found her, this thing going on is a definite threat to her. I'm going to finish this before finding her." He looked distant as he said this and Maris offered him a smile as she patted his back like a sweet grandmother.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find her and we'll get over this. I mean we're one of the top packs and you're a great Alpha." She supplied with a smile, though it did not help that much to take the lingering sadness away from him.
After finishing packing and resting, the two men started their way back to the pack house. "Well I hope we can finish this already, bye Maris." John said waving his hands at her.
She waved back at him, "Oh right! Before I forgot Lark, I hired two other maids, I need help cleaning this big house." She emphasized by motioning her hands around the large building. Lark just nodded at her, "If it's going to help you, do what you want." he stated.
As she saw them shift into their wolves and disappear into the fringe of trees she remembered something very important, that she should've consulted with her alpha. "I'm getting old. I'm forgetting a lot of things nowadays, oh well at least I can surprise him when he come back to see two human maids." She laughed wickedly to herself as she go back inside the villa.
