Chapter 20 By the time they arrived at the mansion it was already dark and they were met by two grumpy men. Licht slowed down her steps when she saw the narrowed look Lark gave her. She looked at him sheepishly before going near him. “I'm sorry we were late.” She said to placate him but his stance remained rigid. “I asked you to bring them back before sundown. What happened?” Lark said to Andrea and Maris instead of recognizing her apology, which ticked her off. He wasn't even addressing her despite being in front of him. Licht, not liking him scolding them because of her fault stood in front of him with her hands on her waist. “It's not their fault, I wanted to buy something and made us late.” She explained while willing his attention to her.
