On reaching Summer's house, Olive and Summer went inside and said hi to her family, her mum dad and older brother, Ryan. They had no idea what happened because Summer rushed out of the house as soon as she got the call and couldn't talk. Looking at Olive, they could tell something terrible must have happened. She looked pale and sad, angry and freaked out. They stared at Summer behind Olive who was trying to tell them not to talk about it. It was so funny that Ryan bursted into laughter. Of was a bit awkward and Olive not understanding what's going on just simply smiled and said she would be upstairs. When she went upstairs, she started unpacking while Summer was downstairs explaining everything to her family, leaving no detail behind. She emphasized that no one should speak about it and they all agreed, they might just say few consoling words and that's it! She said. She rushed upstairs to meet her friend in tears again, looking at a picture her and her mum took few days before the incident. "Look I know you said we shouldn't talk about this but we have to. You have to express yourself so you won't keep hurting, this is not how to handle things like this, talk to me tell me what you're feeling. You don't have to go through this alone, we are in this together, she was my mum as well". Summer said to Olive with tears rolling down her eyes, and worry all over her expression, she reached in for a hug. Olive hugged her back. She pulled out of the hug and held Summer's hands. "Summer, I just feel heartbroken even thinking about it, talking about it just feels sad. I feel like I caused this, if I had stopped the vampire he wouldn't have killed mum but I let him do it. Even if dad couldn't do anything and didn't believe me, I should have taken matters into my hands, I should have protected my mum but I didn't, now she is dead" Olive said crying her heart out, her voice shaky she continued " how will my life be now, I can't look at my father and my mum is gone". Summer wiped her tears away, still holding Olive's cute yet sad face she looked at her in the eyes "Olive none of this is your fault, even if you had tried he is way stronger than you, there's no way you could stop him. Look, your mum will forever remain in our hearts, she is here with us and I want you to be strong, not for anyone but for her. You are a strong girl, I know you! We will walk through this together and I'm sorry I didn't believe you, please find a place in your heart to forgive me. If anyone should have believed you, it should have been me" Summer said looking sad. " What will I do without you Summer? You are a blessing to me, I feel a lot better now. It's alright Sumz, I forgive you and I love you so much" Olive said giving Summer a reassuring smile." Now what are we gonna wear to school tomorrow cause I wanna look normal like nothing happened " Olive asked Summer picking up a 3 different outfits from the wardrobe. "True, first you have to promise me you won't cry anymore, so you can look stunning tomorrow" Summer said to her friend. "Of course! I won't cry anymore". They both laughed and began choosing the outfits. " buzz!" Olive's phone sounded, a message came in. It was from Mr Hudson. It stated that the burial will be in a week. Olive simply read the message and shock her head. "What was that?" Summer asked. "Just a message from my dad, my mum's burial is in a week" she said. "Are you cool with that?" Summer asked. "Yeah, I am". " Okay then, let's go have dinner" Summer said while smiling as if she was proud of how strong her friend was.
Meanwhile...
At Mr Hudson's house, it was like he was losing his mind. He felt depression knocking at his door. He tried to shake his head off everything by watching TV, working out, using his phone and working but nothing seemed to be working. He went to his room and had a shower. He came out and got dressed. While he was looking for just a second ago, he found a scarf his wife got for him on their last trip to Dubai and before he could knew it he began to think. He went out of his room to the exact spot where his wife died. "Why!" Mr Hudson screamed out loud with his very deep and mesmerizing voice. "Anne why did you leave me? No, you didn't even tell me. This is all my fault, I let this happen to you, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Mr Hudson said crying and lying done on the bare floor. "I lost you, now our daughter. Maybe she's right, maybe everything she told me is right. I'm gonna lose my mind soon" still grinding on his teeth and sobbing. " Ding Dong" The door bell rang. Mr Hudson snapped out of it and stood up, he tried to make his hair look better by running through his hair with his hands and wiping his face really fast. He checked quickly just to see Mr Smith outside. " I thought I said I didn't want this case investigated?" he thought. Mr Hudson opened the door " Good day Mr Smith" he said while gesturing a handshake. Mr Smith gladly took his hand and gave a handshake back. " Good day Mr Hudson, are you okay?" Mr Smith asked. "Yes" he said flatly. "Come in" he said moving away from the door and letting him in. Mr Smith walked to the sitting room and sat there, waiting for Mr Hudson who came with two glasses and orange juice. He set the glasses on the tiny table and poured the juice into the glasses. Mr Smith took the juice into his hands and said thank you "Uhm so I was passing by and I heard a loud shout from here, are you sure you're alright?" Mr Smith said. " Actually I'm not Mr Smith, things are getting too scary, I lost my wife and my daughter hates me" Mr Hudson said looking sad already. " You can call me Smith, and please don't bother yourself, things will fall into place before you know it. It's just a matter of time. It won't be easy but be strong for your family. And as for your daughter just keep being sweet to her no matter how much she might claim to hate you, deep down she loves you and never stop being her dad, no matter what" Mr Smith said trying to win him. "Okay Smith, call me Hudson as well, thank you for those words of encouragement. I feel better seems like you have a lot of daughters. You know so much about them" Mr Hudson said while smiling. "Hahaha Hudson, actually I don't have any daughter. But my wife put me through a lot. I'm divorced right now." Mr Smith said while he switched his mood. " I'm sorry about that Smith" Mr Hudson said while tapping his shoulder. "Nah, it's fine. I have one advice for you before I leave" Mr Smith said. "What's your advice?" Mr Hudson asked with curiosity. "If you can for now, move out of this house. It is not good for you to stay here alone" Mr Smith said. After what just happened, Mr Hudson totally agrees "I agree with you Smith". "Alright, please take care and call me anytime you need me, I will take my leave now" Mr Smith said standing up and dropping the glass on the table. "Okay, thank you very much for coming, I will call you soon so we can have lunch and know ourselves more" Mr Hudson said opening the door. "Alright, I await your call. Good bye" He said and walked out. "Good bye" Mr Hudson said and closed the door.
Olive has begun to adjust to her new life without her dad and she's fine with it for now. Her dad has decided to give her space before her finally comes to start asking her to come back home. It's been a week and the burial day is finally here. Olive attended the burial with The whole of Summer's family too. She asked them to take her back to Summer's house immediately after the burial, she didn't want to wait for any reason. They respected her decision and took her back to their home after the burial. Olive was so strong, she was the one who consoled Summer's mother when she wept.
