Bad birthday

1096 Words
For such a long time my family and I have waited for this day, the day I would turn 16, and find my mate. We all hope that he will be from our pack, but there is a strong chance that won’t happen. I role to my side in my bed thinking about the facts, we are the smallest pack in the country that means less possibility of staying here with a mate chosen by the moon goddess for me, so it will probably be a member from a larger pack, and only three large packs were invited to the festivities for my coming of age, the silver moon pack, the the lunar eclipse pack, and the dark sky pack. Each have an alpha close to my age meaning they are all most likely coming to see if I am there mate, or it could just be because my father the alpha of our pack, the sunset blaze pack asked them to come and do business. I sit up in my bed just wishing that time would reverse so I could never come to this day. My feet hit the cold ground, it’s only four in the morning, but getting showered and ready for today’s events will take a while. I turn on the hot water in my private bathroom, and undress while it heats up getting lost in my thoughts again. If things go according to what my family wants than I will be mated into my pack, but if it goes the other way I get banished and can never return. As I finish my shower and bury myself off I’m left with the choice of outfits, I’m not a short girl so I normally wear jeans and a T-shirt, but swing that this is a special day I choose to put my 5’6” height in a dress that goes halfway down my thighs. The dress is blood red, with straps that hang off the shoulders, and it’s skin tight leaving almost nothing to imagine. I pare it with a strappy pair of high heels and a black leather jackets before stepping in front of my mirror. I have a great body, an hour glass figure, With large boobs, a thin waist, an ass that just looks perfect in this dress, and my legs honestly look nice in this dress. My hair is dyed purple with black streaks and one side of my hair was shaved but I let it grow out a bit so it flops over my right eye. My parents always say that I’m just going through a faze, but I think they just want me to be normal like they rest of my siblings we’re before they went off to college. As I do my hair and makeup I fall back into my thoughts, if I have to leave it’s not like it would really bother me but I don’t like people as it is, let alone people that I don’t know. I look back at my reflection my skin is smooth no blemishes accept for the scar that runs through my eyebrow, so I don’t need foundation, I put on my eyeliner getting the perfect wings on both sides, add some mascara, and crimson red lipstick before moving on to my hair. The only thing I can really do to my hair is straighten it so I do, with my hair being straight my bangs now cover my right eye entirely making it impossible to tell that my right eye is blue while my left is green. I take one last look at myself in the mirror and I’m not disappointed in my looks just in the fact that I have to be dressed up and can’t be comfortable. Lost in my thoughts again, and snapping out of my trance like state at the sound of a car door being slammed shut I rush to my window to see who is here. Standing next to a black suv is a tall man, can’t be more than two years older than me, I’ve never seen him before but he is hot like stick your hand right on the burning sun hot, he’s got black hair that flops over his left eye long enough to cover his eye but not look girly. He’s wearing blue jeans that are well fitted, and a black vneck short sleeve T-shirt with a black leather jacket, his skin is olive colored. Before I know it his eyes are on my window and they’re so intense that I almost miss the fact that they are yellow almost gold and they look like they are glowing. A sharp knock on my door pulls me away from my window, when I open my door my mother stands there holding a gift in her hands it’s wrapped in bright pink princess paper with a giant ribbon tied to it. “ Happy birthday my sweet little girl, I know you said you didn’t want anything big so I got something I really think you will like.” At this point my mother is pushing the gift into my hands, and bouncing on her heels in joy, so I open it, and it is nothing like what I was expecting, it’s a black leather bracelet with some red pendants on it. Taking my time to look at it I notice that each pendant represents something important in my life. And there is one place left open for what I assume will be my family from my mate if I even get one. I look up at my mom and all of her joy seems to be gone, “ do you not like it honey?” She sounds so hurt by my lack of reaction, I just look at her for a second before letting my words come out. “ I love it mom, it is perfect and matches my outfit for the day, thank you.” After I finish my mom tries to hug me forgetting that for my whole life I have never liked being touched unless I initiate the contact, I back up a bit hands raised in a somewhat defensive way before she realized her mistake. She looks at me, smiles while nodding her head and turning to leave the room.
