RESIGNED TO FATE
The next day came the most anticipated of days, Monday morning “Marvin made few calls and told his subordinates that he will be working from the comfort of his luxurious home, Because he wanted to spend time alone with his new found love.
Tracy on the other side, dashed out of the mansion in a hurry that morning without disclosing to him where her destination was headed. When Tracy strolled into “Boulevard restaurant, with resignation letter in her hand, she was met with a flurry of concern from her follow servers. “Tracy what's going on? Her close friend Jessica asked, holding her arm. Tracy managed a smile, “ I quit, because I'm starting a new chapter in my life”.
The manager, heard their conversation and he was less than pleased. “You're quiting? Just like that? Tracy heart raced as she turned and looked towards the manager’s angry reaction. She knew deep down in her heart that this was the wisest decision she'd ever made, because something inside her told her to trust Marvin and the path he had set out for her. Sir , “ I know it's sudden, Tracy said calmly, “but I have a new opportunity that I can't pass up”. “New opportunity? What new opportunity? The manager scoffed, you're a waitress with very low education and minimal work experience. Tracy's jaw clenched at the manager's words, but remained composed. “I’m sorry if this is inconvenient for you, but I'm giving you my notice in adherence to the company's policy” she handed him the resignation letter.
The manager snatched the letter angrily out of her hand, his face flushed with anger. “ you're making a big mistake, girl. I'm very sure that you you'll be back here in a month, begging for your old job” Tracy didn't respond, as she exited the restaurant, a mixture of relief and trepidation swirling in her stomach. The world seemed brighter now, filled with possibilities. She couldn't wait to share her news with Marvin.
When she arrived at the Mansion, he was waiting for her, holding a bouquet of crimson roses in his hands.” Tracy my darling “ he said, kissing her on the forehead, “I knew you would make the right choice. Marvin, I quit my job! “Tracy exclaimed her heart bursting with excitement. “I did it. I actually did it. Marvin's smile became very wide as it broadened. “ I knew you had the courage”. He handed her the roses, “ These are for you a token of my faith in you”
Tracy buried her face in the petals, their delicate scent filling her nostrils. “Thank you”, she whispered. “For believing in me”. Marvin guided Tracy to the living room, where a sumptuous dinner awaited them on the dinning table. Champagne bubbled in crystal flutes, candles flickered in silver candlestick, and the gentle strains of cool rhythm and blues music filled the air. Tracy eyes wildened in surprise. “You went out of your way today to do all this for me? “ She breathed and sighed heavily. Marvin’s hand gently cupped her cheek. “Tracy” he said, his voice low and .baritoned, “ You are the reason I wake up each day. I want to give you everything”. Tracy's heart raced with excitement, because she has never felt anything close to this in all her years of existence and for her all this was happening too fast and she barely knew him, but her feeling for Marvin were growing stronger by the day.
They sat down to eat, the food exquisite and the conversation was light. Marvin told her stories from his travels, his voice tilting with the passion of a fine story teller. Tracy listened attentively all through the tale section. When they'd finished dessert Marvin led Tracy to the balcony, where the glistening cityscape stretched out before their sights. The balcony was a Marvel, a stunning extension of his mansion. The swimming pool was a glittering oasis, a serene blue lagoon surrounded by lush tropical plants and dazzling lights. Tracy couldn't help it, as she was swept up in the extravangence of it all. “Marvin stood beside her, his arm arround her waist. “This is my sanctuary,” he said, “ but it was missing something. Tracy turned meeting his eyeballs “ so what is this sanctuary missing all along? because I can see that it has all it takes to be called a safe haven”. She replied “you of course” Marvin interjected, “ the glory of a beautiful damsel in all her splendor was the missing piece of all this puzzle, but thank goodness I finally found you”, now with you in it, I can call it a safe home”. Tracy couldn't help the flurry of emotions that swelled up in her heart as tears was seen rolling down from her eyelids to her cheeks. “ Thank you Marvin” I am short of words, but you have succeeded in sweeping me off my feet with your tenders care and thoughtful choice of words”.:I can't help but fall in love with you, because you are an amazing soul dear”
Marvin dashed in briefly and brought out a bottle of champagne with two glasses, as they both stood on the balcony, the crisp evening breeze caressing their skin, Marvin raised his glass to Tracy, his blue eyes shimmering in the moonlight.
Tracy, he said, “I toast to you-the light that's brightened my world. You make me feel alive again, like I'm not just living for myself, but for someone who truly matters and means more than the world to me”. Tracy blushed with her teary eyelid filled with passion and her heart pounding in her chest. Marvin leaned in, his breath warm on her cheek. “Tracy, will you be my light, my partner, my everything? I want you to be by my side for as long as we have”. Tracy gazed up at him, overcome with emotion. “Yes, Marvin,Yes”. She whispered. Marvin's lips met hers in a passionate kiss, their bodies pressed close together. The city light seemed to dance around them, creating a kaleidoscope of colors. In that moment, it felt like time had stop.
Marvin's gaze was intense, his eyes alight with a mix of tenderness and desire. As he gradually removed lips from hers “Tracy he said, his voice husky and shaky, “ I want to show you something”. Tracy's heart skipped a bit. “ What is it?” She asked. Marvin smiled,a hint of mischief in his eyes. “ it's a, surprise”. He replied, taking Tracy's hand and leading her back inside the mansion. “ Just close your eyes and trust me”. Tracy obliged,at this point she couldn't careless but to trust the man who has brought so much sunshine into her world, These past few days, her senses on high alert as Marvin guided her through the lavish interior. The click of her heels against the marble floors echoed through the space, adding to the sense of anticipation building within her. “Okay”, Marvin whispered, “You can now open your eyes”. Tracy opened her eyes, her jaw dropping in amazement. She found herself standing in a private cinema, complete with velvet-lined walls, plush red seats, and a state of the art projector screen.
“This is for you” Marvin said, wrapping his arms around her from behind. “Your own private movie theatre, to watch whatever you like, whenever you like “. Tracy spin around, her eyes wide and filled with wonder. “This is incredible,” She sighed heavily. “How did you….? Marvin silenced her from continuing her speech with a kiss.
