Parties at Chautin are very different, I learn, because they are held outside no matter what season it is. There are small fires lit on top of stone circles with stone chairs around them if you get cold, although it is doubtful. There are huge bonfires lit all around the pavilion in the courtyard and the warmth emanating from them is enough to warm the whole courtyard. Decorations are being strung up and placed and arranged and I am not needed, but I lend my hands where I can. A feast is being prepared. I did not stay in the kitchens long--only long enough to grab an apple and a glass of milk. I see dozens of dishes being prepared, many of which are unfamiliar to me. It smells delightful, but it is much too hot to stay, so I retreat back to the outdoors, where many people have gathered to
