“Do you love him, Luce?” Theo already felt Lucy’s answer as her body tensed up in his arms. Still, the word hurt more than he could have possibly imagined.
“Yes.”
Theo loved Jace, too, in his own way. How could he be surprised that, in their five-year relationship, Lucy had found comfort and love with her chosen mate? It was only natural. Theo had ruined their chances and then stayed away. Should he be glad she found such love in her life as a second chance? She certainly wasn’t at fault. What other choice did she have, but to accept whatever life was possible with Jace?
