It was so bright. Lucy squinted to adjust to the brilliancy before her. There was no discernible form, but Lucy knew she wasn’t alone. Someone - some entity - was with her. She was overcome by a humble calm. Most people would call it reverence. Lucy stood in the presence of the Moon Goddess. In the moment of realization, the brightness dulled and a scene came into view. Lucy recognized her father first, sitting at a picnic table and laughing. Edwin had his hand on Samia’s knee next to him. Gray colored at Edwin’s temples and in his beard.
