Half a month later, I returned to work at Skydreame Design Institute.
Dana called everyone together to announce the new associate director for the team. After she spoke, I felt nearly everyone's eyes land on me at once.
Word of my brother's death had gotten out—and with it, the fact that I was the eldest Grayson daughter. Everyone knew without anyone having to say it: the associate director position that had been vacant for months was mine. Peggy leaned over and whispered excitedly, "Congratulations! I knew you'd—"
