Damon's POV She lay down on the far side of the bed with her back to me. I just stood there. I'd walked in here at 4 AM because Rhein wouldn't stop clawing at the inside of my ribs. A dull pain struck my chest. Amy had looked at me with those frightened, accusing eyes, and I'd come upstairs to find Aria lying there, burning alive, and something in my chest had just... stopped working the way it usually did.
