“Brother....,” Aleena called out first.
The little boy lying on the sofa with a comic book covering his face ignored her.
She ran over, steadied herself, and pulled off the comic book. “Big brother, I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?” The little boy yawned, looking lazy and sluggish. “Did you break the glass of someone’s house or did you bully another kid into tears? Leena, It's just been three days, yet I can't count how many times you've caused so much trouble. From my memory, you should be standing in front of the window and reflecting right now.”
It wasn't even up to a week that they had moved in yet mommy was forced to pay for several damages caused by this little culprit, called Aleena.
Not only does she find bullying other kids satisfying, but also breaks the neighbor's glass windows. It went so out of hand that Irina had instructed her to face the window and self-reflect.
“I was reflecting,” Aleena replied seriously. “But my soul was robbed off.”
Alex sighed. His cute little face, alongside his black hair, gave off an unruly feeling. “As if I would believe that.”
“Brother, I think we need to have a good talk,” Aleena said with wide eyes.
“Okay, What do you want to talk about? About the little children you have beaten since you moved here?”
“They are three years older than me and not little anymore. I’m the little child.” Aleena caressed her cheeks with a mischievous smile on her face. “Talking about it makes me feel shy.”
Alex laid back, his little fair legs leaning forward. “Shy? You? Leena, you don’t have a shy bone in you at all. What are you up to now?”
Aleena thought for a while. She pattered over to the side, then pattered back, holding a piggy bank in her hand. “I want to buy something.”
“Why are you telling me about something so trivial?” Alex stood up and touched his sister's piggy bank with his finger. “Trouble Leena, The black card mommy gave you seems to be inside.”
When had his sister become so lavish?
Aleena had a serious expression. “It’s expensive.” Even though she wasn’t sure how much it cost, it looked expensive. With that in mind, Aleena glanced outside the window once more. It was a pity that the handsome man hadn’t appeared again after leaving for work.
Alex broke into a smile. Probably because of his good looks and natural mischief, there was a contrast to his beauty despite wearing a white shirt. “You can ask mother about this. I’m not in charge of the money at home”
“What time is mom coming home today?” Aleena asked, scratching the itch on her face.
When Alex heard the question, a grudgeful expression fell over his cute little face. “11 pm. She told us to eat by ourselves. Come to the kitchen, Leena, let's cook instant noodles!”
“I’m not cooking.” Aleena hugged her piggy bank. “I’m still obsessed with beauty and can’t help myself. I don’t have the mood to cook noodles.”
Alex was puzzled. What had this got to do with beauty?
“Let me cook it myself before you starve to death”
Alex stood up and walked into the kitchen. Though Alex was only five years old, he was very good at boiling water and preparing perfect instant noodles with zero errors.
He lit up the stove and prepared instant noodles as fast as he could. By the time the instant noodles were prepared, he returned to the sitting room so that he could give his sister her share of the noodles, only to find the sitting room empty.
......
Meanwhile, outside the window of Aaron's room, little Leena was focused on the window in front of her. Her actions seemed as fierce as a tiger but the actual results were unnoticeable. After fiddling for what felt like half a day, Little Leena felt that she was too gentle. She pulled her small bag over and was planning to use her tools to open the window.
Little Aleena never thought that she would get discovered, after all, her climbing wall skill was famous in her previous town.
Although the weather was a little cold today, she still purposely evaded the people on the first level. She had even evaded the camera the Willer family had placed in the corners with the help of her small frame. Thus, she got a little bold with her actions.
When Aaron opened the curtain, this was the little lamb he saw that climbed in by climbing the wall. She was standing there sideways with her small figure. She looked like she was going to fall off at any moment.
However, she didn't notice it. Her huge round eyes froze for a moment when she saw Aaron. Then she gave a bright smile. The dimples on her face could be seen clearly. “Uncle Aaron!”
Aaron was scared she would fall off, after all, she was still so young, Thus, he opened the window instantly, his voice still indifferent as he said “Come down”
Since he had asked her to come down, she obediently came down.
And like a rabbit in a lion's den, Aleena watched as Aaron walked further into the room before sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed.
That was when Aleena stole a few glances at him.
It seemed like he had just returned from work, perfect timing!
The man on the sofa was dressed in a black suit, and his figure was very attractive with an air of imposing elegance. His black hair was combed back neatly, revealing his perfect, three-dimensional face, and his complex, unfathomable gaze under his sword-like eyebrows.
Although he was only sitting quietly on the sofa, his calm and domineering attitude, as well as his noble and extraordinary demeanor was like that of an ancient emperor so strong that one would not be able to breathe.
Anyone as young as Aleena would've shuddered in fear immediately after meeting him but to Aleena, he was very amiable. He was the image of her father in her eyes, so with a wave of her hand, she revealed a smile that she thought was the most adorable.
Aaron's calm and composed eyes were instantly shocked when he saw the child's appearance. Her appearance was almost the same as when he was young.
It was a small face, with perfect feminine lines. Although it was slightly pink, the facial features reminded him of his childhood self.
For a while now, the little guest that had appeared had been staring at him. Aaron lowered his eyes from her stare and was met with those black and white eyes. Her eyes were rather big. That was Aaron's only thought.
She was staring at him Intensely. Alex was just about to take a step when the little kid turned to his Friend, Ray, and called out, “Hello, Ray uncle.”
Next, she ran over to Aaron and pushed the piggy bank in her hands toward him, her cat tail wagging behind her.
“Uncle Aaron, how much are you a pound? I want to buy you.”
Buy him? How much he was a pound? Aaron's eyebrows wrinkled uncontrollably. He looked at the smiling face in front of him and took a step forward. For some reason, he had a hunch that his nightmare was about to begin.
“Buy Aaron... per pound? kiddo, do you understand what you're saying?” Ray asked with an amused grin on his face.
“Uncle Aaron is so cute; it’s normal for me to like him,” Little Aleena said, turning her head over with a serious expression. Her ears moved. “It’s making me a little shy to say this but Uncle Aaron, can you agree to marry my mommy? We'll be very good to you, I promise.”
“Cute, haha.” Ray who was seated silently at a corner while watching in amusement, laughed loudly. “This is the first time I’ve heard someone call Sir Aaron cute.”
Little Aleena widened those clear watery eyes. “No one said it before? That’s strange. There must be a lot of people who like Uncle Aaron right?.”
“It seems like your mommy really like Sir Aaron” Ray spoke softly.
“Very much,” Little Leena emphasized to show her sincerity, turning to look straight at Aaron's face.
“Little girl, so you're here today to deliver a marriage proposal on behalf of your mommy, correct? ” Ray asked.
Who dared to send this little kid to propose marriage to this huge rock of ice in here, that too In this chilling night, this child could get sick!
“Yes! And I brought this as well; I'm sure that Uncle Aaron could be my mommy's husband,” Aleena spoke as she gave a paper to Aaron, who opened it and started reading.
It was a resume that was written by a child, but what shocked Aaron the most was its content.
In the resume, she wrote the name of her mommy; her age, hobbies, and work.
'Mommy can cook, wash clothes and dishes, mommy is beautiful and very independent and brave too!'
Aaron gritted his teeth; who is that insolent woman who had the guts to send her child in here to fulfill her selfish fantasies? He was about to crumble the paper into a round ball and toss it into the dustbin when he noticed the picture attached to the resume.
At first, he thought his eyes were playing tricks with him until he saw the all-too-familiar name.
Irina Eliss.
