What Now

After a while, everyone begins to wake up and get dressed for the day. Novah had an OB appointment before work and Melissa had to go work. "I'll see you after your appointment, No." Melissa said as she leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. Then she turned to Max and winked at him as she blew him a kiss. Man and Novah laugh while hugging each other.

As the door closes behind Melissa, Max slowly walks Novah towards the door as he pins her against it and claims her mouth. "I wish you didn't have to go back to work and could stay here with me all day." Max states, as he pouts at her. Novah rolls her eyes and laughs. She leans in and plants a kiss on him. "I have work to do and so do you." Max rolls his eyes and sighs. He hated his job so much. He came from money but, when his dad passed away, he was left to run the family business. Which meant a lot of meetings, conference calls and a lot of papers to sign.

Almost on que, Max's phone goes off repeatedly. Sighing, he moves away from her to answer it. Once its to his ear, he's all business. Novah laughs as she goes to his room and finish getting ready for the day. She was excited and nervous about her OB appointment. Going to work made her want to panic more. She didn't know how much her co-workers knew about what happened with her and Sam.

As she walks out of his room, he's logging into his laptop and typing furiously. He briefly looks up to smile and blow her a kiss. She smiles and blows him a kiss back as she waves to leave. Walking out of the building to flag down a cab, a black sedan pulls up. A tall man gets out with a smile and walks up to her. Novah freezes and begins to reach in her purse for her phone to call Max for help. He approaches her slowly. "I'm Scott, ma'am. Max has hired me to drive anywhere you need to go." he says, as he opens the back door for her. "I understand you have a doctor appointment and then you have to go to work?" Novah chuckles, realizing he really did love her. She nods as she gets in the car and takes her phone out to call Max. 

Max's phone rings and he laughs as he notices it's Novah calling. "I take it John showed up?" He can hear Novah laugh nervously.  "I promise, I paid to have him take care of you when you leave here. So stay with him at all times, No." Max says, with a stern voice. She laughs as she rolls her eyes. "Yes, daddy." She says, in a sexy voice that made Max shiver. "I'll show you who's your daddy when you get home. Please call me after your appointment so I know you're both okay." Novah agrees as they pull up to her appointment. 

John gets out and opens the door for her. As she closes the door another black vehicle pulls up and parks as two guys get out to walk her in the building. The first guys walks up with a warm smile and says, "Hello, Novah, I'm John." motioning to the smaller guy next him, he continues. "This is my partner, Clint. Max hired us to be your bodyguards. We'll be with you from now on." Novah can't help but tear up. He wasn't taking any precautions when it came to her and their baby. Novah nods as she walks towards the build with her two shadows following her.

Everyone stares at her as they all walk in together. The lady behind the desk smiles and checks her in. It doesn't take them long to call her back and begin her appointment. The do blood work, urine test and check the heartbeat. Her baby's heartbeat was strong and steady. The doctor couldn't stop smiling, very pleased with how Novah had healed up. "Everything looks amazing, honey. You're blood pressure is a little high, so try not to do too much."

As requested, she calls Max who wasn't happy that she was still going to work after the doctor told her to take it easy. "Max, I'm fine. I sit a desk all day." She could hear him sigh in frustration. "Novah, I know your job isn't laboring. I just know with everything going that if could be stressful." Novah begins to cry, nut she stops and takes a deep breath to calm herself. "Max, if i start to not feel good I'll come back, okay?" Max takes a deep breath too, and sighs. "Okay, that's fine. Make sure to let John and Clint know to contact me if something happens today, please?" Novah smiles, she's so in love with this man. "I will, babe. I love you, Max." She hears him chuckle. "I love you too, No. Be safe, please. You have my heart in your hands and your belly, so don't break it." As he finishes, she cries again unable to speak.

Still crying as Scott opens the door, Novah tries to fix her makeup and head to her job. John and Clint are at her side as she walks through the door. Everyone stares and whispers to each other as she walks past them. Novah can feel the tension in the air, so she assumes they know about her and Sam. With a sigh her and her body guards get in the elevator to head up to her work floor. Melissa greets them with a smile as they exit to the floor. 

"I see Max gave you body guards like he did me." Melissa says, smiling. Novah laughs at how much he cares for them. "Have you heard any rumors yet?" Melissa shakes her head and frowns. "Why? Have you heard anything?" Novah feels tears forming again but she wipes them away. "Not really, but everyone keeps staring and whispering." Melissa stands to look at everyone, who quickly looks away. "Don't let them get to you, girl. Just keeping being you." Novah smiles as she hugs her friend then walks to her desk.

As she reaches her desk, she notices and envelope with flowers. John quickly walks over with Clint right next to him to open the envelope. He frowns as his jaw tics in anger. He hands the paper to Clint as John takes out his phone and makes a call. "Sir, there are flowers and an envelope on her desk." He listens for a bit and then continues. "He's out on bond right now and wants to see her." John nods and looks at Novah. "She's fine, sir. What do you want us to do?" Nodding again, he smiles and hangs up the phone. "Max said to ask your boss if you can work from home this week." Novah nods as she walks towards her bosses office.

After a while, she exits the room as she grabs her things to leave. Melissa stand and looks at her. "Sam left me a few things on my desk. So Max thinks its best to work from home this week." Thinking about it she puts a hand on her shoulder. "You should probably do the same, Mel. He could use you to get to me." Melissa thinks it over before she nods and walks towards their bosses office. Novah is shaking with anger as John puts a hand on the small of her back. "Novah, are you okay?" She can't speak so she nods instead as they get into the elevator. Novah can't help but think her life will never be the same again and she wanted to cry.
