Oh Janie, Oh Janie Where Have You Gone?

Manny and his bride Janie continued their work in the Palace with Jonas daily. They also decided to take a “constitutional” walk every day since they knew she was pregnant. Not many babies had been born in the new Yuma Hospital. It was not large and didn't have a lot of rooms for people to stay but it did have a good doctor who had trained some back in the east in the delivery of children.
The doctor also had the good sense to know mid-wives were useful in the process and planned on having a mid-wife in attendance when it came time for Janie to deliver her baby. Janie thought it should be Flora and Carmelita, both women having helped others to deliver children in their past. The Doctor raised no objections to either or both women
