The Ride to Yuma Concludes
Early November 1910
As Ross and Ralph rode into San Luis Potosi', Sonora the Alcalde (Mayor) of the town came out of his offices to meet them in the center of the main street. Everyone in the community had heard of their ride to Yuma and the sad reason for the ride. The people of the town gathered around the mayor awaiting Ross and Ralph. They were quiet, murmurs passed through the crowd but there were no loud voices heard. Though neither Ross nor Ralph was in San Luis often they were both known there for their own exploits and for their wives who both came from the area. The gathering of the people was a showing of respect for the men, for their family, and for their grief.
