Chapter 2 - Friends

830 Words
After living in the small village all her life, Lily decided to move to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a powerful witch and werewolf. She felt a pull towards the city, as if it was calling to her, and she knew that she needed to follow it. Once she arrived in the city, she was amazed by the energy and excitement that surrounded her. Everywhere she looked, there were people and buildings and lights, and she felt a sense of exhilaration that she had never experienced before. As she settled into her new life, Lily continued to practice her magic and hone her skills. She soon discovered that New York City was home to a thriving supernatural community, and she quickly made friends with other witches and werewolves. She quickly becomes friends with Samantha, who is a witch. Samantha smiled as Lilly joined the group, pulling her into a tight hug. "Lilly, you made it! We've been waiting for you," she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. Lilly returned the hug, feeling a wave of happiness wash over her. "I wouldn't miss it for the world, Sam. It's so good to see everyone." Samantha motioned for Lilly to take a seat, and as she settled into the chair, she couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment being surrounded by her friends. She turned to Samantha and asked, "So, what have I missed? Any exciting supernatural tales?" Samantha's eyes lit up, and she leaned closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Oh, you won't believe it! Remember that witch we heard about? The one who conjured a storm in the middle of the city?" Lilly's eyebrows were raised in intrigue. "No way! What happened?" Samantha leaned back, a mischievous grin on her face. "Well, it turns out she was just trying to impress a vampire she had a crush on. Can you believe it? Talk about taking love spells to a whole new level!" Lilly burst into laughter, the sound blending with the lively ambiance of the café. "That's hilarious! Only in New York, right?" Their friends chimed in with their own anecdotes, sharing stories of encounters with magical creatures, mishaps with spells gone awry, and moments of triumph in their own magical pursuits. As the conversation continued to flow, Lilly couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging and camaraderie among her friends. These were the moments she cherished—shared laughter, shared dreams, and the knowledge that she wasn't alone in this extraordinary world. Samantha leaned in with a mischievous grin, nudging Lilly's arm playfully. "Alright, spill the beans, Lily. Have you been keeping any secret admirers from us?" Lilly chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Oh, you know me, Sam. I've been too busy with my witchy pursuits to even think about finding a man." Samantha feigned shock, placing a hand over her heart dramatically. "What? The powerful and stunning Lilly doesn't have time for romance? We need to fix that!" Lilly laughed, shaking her head. "You're too much, Sam. But really, finding love isn't a top priority right now. I'm more focused on my magical journey and discovering my true potential." Samantha raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Well, who says you can't have it all? Imagine a hot, brooding werewolf alpha sweeping you off your feet while you're busy brewing potions. Talk about multitasking!" Lilly burst into laughter, imagining the scenario Samantha had painted. "Oh, sure. I'll just add 'finding my soulmate' to my to-do list between casting spells and studying ancient grimoires. No biggie!" Samantha grinned, leaning back in her chair. "Hey, you never know. Life has a funny way of surprising us when we least expect it. Maybe a magical love potion will accidentally spill on a certain someone." Lilly playfully nudged Samantha's arm. "You're terrible! But I appreciate the sentiment. Maybe one day, love will find me in the midst of my magical escapades. Until then, I'll focus on being the badass witch that I am." Samantha raised her glass in a toast. "To being badass witches and finding love in the most unexpected places!" They clinked their glasses together, laughter and excitement filling the air as they embraced the unpredictable journey of life, magic, and the possibilities that awaited them. Samantha looked at Lilly with a mischievous grin & a spark of excitement in her eyes. Lilly knew that look, Samantha wanted to have fun tonight. Without a word, they made a silent agreement. "Club it is," Samantha declared, her voice filled with excitement. Lilly nodded eagerly, a thrill coursing through her veins. "Let's go dance the night away and leave our worries behind!" They quickly finished their drinks, feeling the anticipation building within them. With a shared understanding, they headed towards the lively heartbeat of the city, the vibrant pulse of music guiding their steps.
