“Elizabeth?” “I tend to go by Beth,” I told him, not looking back up. “Okay, Beth?” He pause took in a deep breath and continued “I have found a way to get you out of this cell,” He seemed hesitant to be telling me this, “How?” I asked not wanting to be to hopeful, “You’d have to go deeper into my world,” My focus left my hands and landed back on him, “But there isn’t any going back from there,” “What are you talking about?” “Monsters,” He said straight faced “Things that are hidden for a reason,” He looked so serious, and even though I wanted to think he was joking I was sitting in a dungeon chained to a wall. “I can’t decide if you're kidding or not,” He smiled slightly for a moment, then it was gone again. “I’m being serious, I wish I wasn’t though,” He looked sad now, “I don’t want to pull you into all this though, I’m sorry,” It took all my strength not to pull him into a hug and comfort him. “Then why did you bring me here?” He didn’t answer my question, instead he said, “If you accept then you’ll be moved upstairs,” His expression changed slightly, from sad, cold and worried to warm and comforting, but still worried. “What happens if I don’t accept?” He shook his head, clearly not wanting to tell me. “Well then I’m not given much choice, so I guess I accept,” James nodded and stood up. I was about to plead for him not to leave when he pulled the small key from his pocket, crouched down, unlocked the restraints and straightened again. He offered me his hand, I took it letting him pull me to my feet. My legs were shaking and weak, my head spun. James held me up for a moment, pulled my arm over his shoulder and helped me out of the cell. The hall matched, stone walls, concert floor, wooden doors on either side lined the hall and at the end a staircase leading up. We slowly walked down the hall, as I still wasn't completely balanced yet. When we reached the stairs we stopped walking, “Will you be able to get up?” James asked, he was staring up the stairs. I shook my head, my legs ached and I could barely walk no way I was going to be able to get up stairs. James let go of my arm but before I could stumble he had picked me up and I was safely cradled in his arms. He headed up the stairs, followed the hall making several turns before slowing down. They were in another hall, this one was nothing like the other. The carpet that ran its length was expensive and had an intricate pattern, there were fewer doors spread further apart and even though the hall was dim it still looked well light. James walked down the hall and stopped at the fifth door on the right, still keeping me balanced in his arms he opened the door with a key and head inside. Not bothering to turn on the lights he walked into the dark room closing the door behind him. He dodged around shapes in the darkness that didn’t seem like junk but furniture. Eventually he came to a stop and put me down onto a bed. There was a soft click next to me and a lamp turned on. From what I could now see of the room it was filled with expensive furniture and was impossibly clean. James left the small bubble of light for a moment, light filled the rest of the room -Which was massive- I turned off the lamp not seeing the point in leaving it on and lay down on the bed. It was a big king size bed with tons of cushions and neatly made covers. James stood in the doorway to the next room -of the apartment- watching me with a smile,
